The eCommerce Digital Category Manager will be responsible for the development and execution of the e-commerce product category strategies focused on revenue and margin growth for assigned product category portfolios. You will be responsible for all e-commerce sales channels including, but not limited to, Amazon, Walmart, eBay and our own .com site. The digital category manager owns the P&L for their assigned categories and is expected to generate new business lines with current and potential vendors to achieve budgeted sales goals. The e-commerce category manager will be responsible for optimizing their listings on each market place and ensure that their categories have optimized fulfillment options. They will manage vendor/supplier relationships and negotiate competitive terms. Assesses financial state, supplier performance, product mix, and market growth opportunities of categories to formulate an overall strategic category plan. They will also develop and executes exit strategies for unsuccessful products. The digital category manager will need to clearly communicate their category strategy within the consumer markets organization with the intent of driving the digital marketing campaigns and operations prioritization. They will directly partner with marketing and operations on the execution of their tactical plans to deliver intended results. The digital category manager will also be responsible for partnering with the operations and pricing teams to set their pricing strategy using a combination of price manager and individual re-pricers. Candidates near a McKesson hub location are preferred, but remote candidates will be considered.
Previous experience in vendor management and contract negotiations
Experience selling on Amazon.com using Channel Advisors or other 3rd party applications
Demonstrated analytical ability and financial acumen
Ability to demonstrate effective communication skills with a large variety of audiences
Ability to translate strategic vision into tactical plans and influence adoption of prescribed actions
Ability to analyze data or insights to determine industry and consumer trends
Devise long-term development strategies for product categories
Form trusted relationships with vendors to achieve better pricing and quality of services
Liaise with marketing teams to determine the optimal marketing programs for their categories.
