The Senior Devops Engineer will be security focused to help drive protective business critical engineering. You will serve as the conduit between our Engineering and InfoSec teams, building an expert-level understanding of our technical infrastructure, software products, and processes. You will be expected to design, plan and implement strategic and tactical security improvements that will support all of engineering. Essential Job Functions Include:
Lead efforts on penetration testing, code reviews, design/architecture, and system security reviews.
Act as conduit between ESG and Dover to ensure compliance in all aspects of Cybersecurity, Data Security, Disaster Recovery and IT Change Management and Controls.
Plays an advisory role in software development projects to assess security requirements and controls and to ensure that security controls are implemented.
Performs control and vulnerability assessments to identify control weaknesses and assess the effectiveness of existing controls, and recommends remedial action.
Responsible for ensuring all systems and devices on the company network are adequately patched and protected from malicious software and other intrusion attempts.
Manage company's portfolio of security vulnerability management, automation, authentication and monitoring tools.
Conduct or assist in the investigations of alerts, event management, spam investigation, threat management, penetration testing, etc.
Demonstrate expertise in mitigating real-world attacks, such as DDoS, XSS, CSRF, and dictionary attacks.
Ability to assess applications and the associated data flow for risk to sensitive data, systems, or infrastructure.
Architect and design cloud infrastructure and software solutions according to customers' needs.
Design and build solutions in conjunction with predetermined requirements analysis, but challenge and question potential gaps in analysis.
Support the cloud and on-premises deployment pipelines using Jenkins, Cloud Formation, Chef, Puppet, and other tools as appropriate.
Support containerization technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, etc.
Script and automate tasks to reduce repetitive work.
Support centralized log aggregation and analysis.
Configure, troubleshoot, and maintain existing IoT deployments.
Deployment of system and security patches and updates, including managing the patching platform for servers.
Install, maintain, and operate system monitoring and alerting tools: Monit, DataDog, Grafana, Prometheus, and Elastic Search.
Ensure instances are patched regularly and contain necessary security software.
Provide timely project progress updates via tracking software (e.g. Jira) and daily meetings.
Utilize source code revision control tools (such as GitLab) for source code management.
Bachelor's Degree, or higher, in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field is required.
5 years of coding and scripting expertise.
Strong Linux knowledge.
Amazon Web Service (AWS) expertise.
Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or other containerization solutions.
Experience with deploying high availability, IoT framework and scalable applications.
Good knowledge of SQL - MySQL.
Good knowledge of NoSQL Cassandra and MongoDB.
Proven experience and deep understanding of web application architecture, including TCP/IP, HTTP, TLS, HTTP/2, and common authentication schemes.
Should be able to identify SQLi, XSS, CSRF, SSRF, authentication and authorization flaws, and other web-based security vulnerabilities (OWASP Top 10 and beyond).
Superb communication skills and adept proficiency at distilling complex concepts into tangible value-generating initiatives.
Knowledge of cryptography and encryption products, data loss prevention, mobile device management.
Knowledge of Cyber Security Frameworks (NIST, ISO).
