Senior DevOps Engineer Herndon, VA and McLean, VA
As a Senior DevOps Engineer you will be a key player in IIA's innovation and modernization efforts and customer development. You will support development, integration, and deployment of hybrid multicloud and cloud native machine learning and geospatial applications. You will also support the development of a corporate innovation laboratory, open source projects, and strategic business capture. This is a Full-Time position and work location will be divided between a customer location in Herndon, VA and corporate headquarters in McLean, VA.
Work collaboratively in agile, mixed team environment with other developers, data scientists and geospatial experts to support development, integration and deployment of new capabilities.
Support development, integration, and deployment of hybrid multicloud and cloud native applications.
Work with the Chief Technology Officer's team developing corporate capabilities, including the innovation laboratory and open source projects.
Support white paper development, strategic captures, and proposals in your areas of expertise and experience.
Support development and documentation of standard corporate Agile DevSecOps processes, tool kits, and vendor relationships.
Support testing, evaluation, installation and configuration of new application version releases.
Support production maintenance activities that include the development of automated scripts and scheduled tasks, server maintenance, application/system monitoring, software/security updates and patching, archiving/disposition of system logs and/or data records.
Maintain various DevOps related tools and scripts on various environments (dev, test, pre-prod, prod) on on-premises & cloud infrastructure.
Should ideally come from a senior developer with virtual machine, container, and serverless experience.
5 years prior experience with application development and integration in various on premise and public cloud environments.
2 years prior experience with Agile DevOps and automated application deployment to the cloud.
Experience in open source or proprietary proof of concept pilots or projects.
At least one year production experience with NoSQL system.
At least one year production experience with Docker.
At least six months production experience with Kubernetes.
At least six months production experience with CI/CD.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
As part of a multidisciplinary, cutting-edge team, the following optional experience is also viewed favorably:
Experience in designing and building a lab environment from an initial CONOPS.
Experience managing a lab or as Principal Investigator on IRAD or R&D projects.
Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA)
Certified AWS Solutions Architect
Certified Azure Solutions Architect
Databricks Certified Associate Developer for Apache Spark
Proficiency in Python, R, Scala, Julia, SQL.
Production experience with at least one other CNCF system
(Helm, Spinnaker, Istio, Strimzi, Quarkus, etc.)
Open source or proprietary geospatial software.
Deep learning and machine learning algorithms.
Internet of Things.
Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent Experience.
You do not need a current/active clearance to apply, but must be able to pass and hold a government Public Trust (SF-85) background investigation. You must either be a US Citizenship or Green Card Holder to be eligible.
