Position Summary

At the Westborough, MA Headquarters as well as at our other design centers our Product Development teams provide solutions to our customers through the design and development of AC-DC and DC-DC power supplies, board mount products as well as battery equalizer products used in industrial electrical vehicles. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting project teams in the coordination of project schedules and project deliverables related to timing, performance, cost, and manufacturing.

Job Duties/Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with the project team and the cross functional teams to manage product design projects from specification development through to high volume manufacturing introduction.

  • Develop, manage, and maintain all project plans using company software tools.

  • Plan and facilitate project review meetings to ensure timely completion of the project development stages as outlined in the applicable development procedure(s).

  • Where required, act as an interface between the company and the Customer to achieve project timelines and high Customer satisfaction.

  • Manage and report progress to both internal and external Customers.

  • Provide timely progress report and escalation to executive management team as required.

  • Plan project end evaluation with all team members to assess how well projects have been managed (including lessons learned and opportunities for improvement).

  • Responsible for circulating the task information and action items throughout the team.

  • Responsible for creating and maintaining a clean record of the Project history allowing all project team members and management to monitor the project progress.

  • Responsible for creating and maintaining minutes during Project review meetings.

  • Responsible for posting such minutes on MPS Share-Point for MPS Internal communications.

  • Correlates the Project tasks with other on-going projects and flags to the Engineering Director potential conflicts in using the resources.

  • Identifies risks and obstacles and formulates an attack plan.

  • Contributes to Continuous Process Improvement activities.

  • Contributes to Develop companywide KPI metrics to be used in project reporting.

  • Contributes to Standardize RFQ/ROI processes company wide.

  • Contributes to Develop project management reporting dashboards.

Experience Required

  • Engineering Degree OR consideration of a combination of education and experience.

  • PMP certification is an asset.

  • 10+ years' experience with a typical product development process.

  • Experience managing a project involving automotive functional safety and following ISO26262C process is a plus.

  • Experience working on a project involving an electronic control unit with a major automotive OEM or Tier 1 supplier is a plus.

  • Experience managing a project for power train based electronic control units is a plus.

  • Proven ability to manage internal and external Customer communications and expectations.

  • Computer literacy with company used software tools, i.e Microsoft Office.

  • Individual must be seen as a team player by the Project Leader and their team.

  • Must have a solid understanding of customer expectations.

  • Other duties as assigned by manager.

  • Some travel may be required.

  • Strong organizational skills including the ability to multi-task and make quick decisions in a fast-paced environment.

  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.

  • Ability to think outside the box, balancing market requirements, company strategy and innovative ideas. Curiosity and enthusiasm for taking calculated risk of revolutionary approaches.

Work Environment

This position is an on-site role, with 1 flex day per week of remote work.

Compensation Data

The salary range for this role is $130,000/year - $145,000/year.
