Senior Developer, Business Intelligence

General Summary

The Senior Business Intelligence (BI) Developer spearheads the BI department, leading the development and execution of data-driven strategies that support various functional areas including marketing, operations, and customer service. This role is strategic thinker adept in data analysis, business strategy, and leadership.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

• Leads a team of BI analysts and specialists, crafting and implementing a BI strategy that complements the company's objectives to enhance decision-making across all organizational levels.

• Manages the architecture, maintenance, and governance of company data, ensuring its accuracy and accessibility. Adopts best practices in data handling and security.

• Develops robust analytics frameworks to monitor key metrics across the organization. Provides actionable insights and data-driven recommendations to department heads and executive leadership to foster business enhancements.

• Partners with the marketing department to assess campaign effectiveness, customer segmentation, and market trends. Leverages analytics to refine marketing strategies and boost customer engagement.

• Engages closely with various stakeholders to pinpoint business needs and opportunities. Converts business requirements into technical specifications and effective BI solutions.

• Keeps pace with industry trends and advancements in BI tools and methodologies. Proposes and implement upgrades and innovations in BI processes and technologies.

• Mentors and develops team members, promoting a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.

• Works on regularly scheduled days as well as unscheduled days and/or beyond regular work hours due to customer or operational demands, as needed.

• Adheres to all Company standard procedures, policies and safety practices in the course of performing work activities.

• Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field, and; minimum of 5 years of experience in a BI role with at least 2 years in a managerial capacity; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Proficient in BI technologies (e.g., Microsoft Power BI, Looker - preferred), database management systems (e.g., Snowflake - preferred, MS SQL server) and data development languages (SQL - preferred, Python, etc.)

• Demonstrated expertise in data analysis and management with a proven ability to translate business needs into non-technical terms and BI solutions.

• Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills.

• Experience in the telecommunications industry.

• Familiarity with cloud platforms and services, such as AWS or Azure.

Working Conditions

• Employee remains in the sitting position for prolonged hours. Employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, use hands to handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
