JOB SUMMARY:

The Senior End User Computing Engineer plays a critical role in ensuring the stability, security, and optimal performance of Seacoast's end user computing environment. This position requires advanced expertise in the Microsoft platform, particularly in Windows operating systems, Office 365, Azure Active Directory, SCCM (System Center Configuration Manager), and related technologies. The Senior End User Computing Engineer will be responsible for providing advanced technical support, managing system administration tasks, analyzing software solutions, and leading end user computing projects. Additionally, this role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, communicating effectively with end users, and contributing to the overall knowledge sharing and development of the team.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Manage and administer Microsoft Windows operating systems and related software.

  • Administer and support Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (SCCM).

  • Utilize SCCM for endpoint management, including software deployment, patch management, application packaging, creating task sequences and operating system deployments.

  • Support desktop security practices, implement and maintain security measures within SCCM to protect end user computing devices and data.

  • Troubleshoot hardware and software issues, diagnose problems, and implement solutions to ensure minimal downtime for end users.

  • Provide advanced technical support for end user computing devices including desktops, laptops, mobile devices, and peripherals with timely resolution to technical issues.

  • Develop and maintain gold images for standardized deployment across the organization's end user computing environment.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deploy and support end user computing solutions.

  • Communicate effectively with end users to understand their technical needs and provide guidance and support.

  • Document technical procedures, configurations, and troubleshooting steps for reference and knowledge sharing.

  • Analyze new software applications to assess compatibility, security, and performance within the end user computing environment.

  • Coordinate with software vendors and internal stakeholders to evaluate software licensing agreements and ensure compliance.

  • Develop strategies for software lifecycle management, including software upgrades, migrations, and retirements.

  • Evaluate and recommend new technologies and solutions to improve end user productivity and efficiency.

  • Mentor junior team members and share expertise to enhance the overall competency of the team.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

  • 5+ years of experience in end user computing support or related field.

  • Advanced experience with the Microsoft platform, including Windows operating systems, Office 365, Azure Active Directory, AutoPilot, Intune and SCCM (System Center Configuration Manager), and related technologies.

  • Understanding of multi-user VDI environment and ability to package and deploy applications in a non-persistent VDI environment.

  • Direct experience with desktop security practices and tools.

  • Proficiency with MS Office toolset.

  • Ability to multitask and adapt to new processes and learn new tools, processes, and technologies.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with end users and technical teams.

  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Ability to work after hours duties as required.

  • Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate or similar credentials are a plus. These may include:

  • Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate

  • Microsoft Certified: Security, Compliance, and Identity Fundamentals

  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate

  • Microsoft Certified: Endpoint Manager Administrator Associate

  • Microsoft Certified: Enterprise Administrator Expert

  • Experience working in cross-functional teams and collaborating with diverse stakeholders.

  • Knowledge of IT governance frameworks, standards, and best practices.
