Will lead design efforts and utilize design skills to create original, style-led innovative designs that accurately reflect design philosophy and lead the industry in Beaverton, OR.
Will quickly anticipate and identify key trends, that translate into meaningful products that resonate with consumers through continued research and consumer connection. Will respond to business objectives with creative design solutions aligned to consumer insights. Will work with Design and Category teams to strategize, create, drive and deliver powerful presentations for seasonal design proposals that effectively communicate the concept behind the line for internal and external audiences.
Will also lead design product processes to ensure design deliverables and timelines are met. Will partner with design leadership and category team members in Design, Development and Merchandising to ensure design feasibility and that designs meet price points, merchandising needs and product creation timelines. Will establish prototype sampling information, including fabrication, trim, color, graphic applications, style, detail, fit requirements and construction detail.
Will also monitor the development of prototype samples and interact with Development, Pattern Making, Material, and the Sample Room to exchange ideas and ensure timely completion of each project. Will maintain and continually expand upon expert knowledge of current trends, color, and consumer-related products through market travel and research. Will forecast trends and communicate change to the creative vision and brand direction based upon changes in trends.
Will provide guidance to designers and category team members and share knowledge, experience, skills and best practices with others. Will design apparel products that are created and sold to consumers, including original concepts, selection of appropriate color and materials, and modifications to ensure manufacturability. Will elevate the consumer experience through superior product craft.
Will bring to life the seasonal category creative direction through apparel design and innovations that are trend relevant to the category. Will execute all product details, including construction detail, color, form, style, detail, fit, performance, graphic application, and trim. Will set seasonal strategy for the product line and create a visual center for storytelling around a concept or athlete that influences the overall seasonal direction.
Will delegate workload and manage the completion of designs for product lines. Will influence process changes, including establishing best practices, and setting the calendar and manufacturing process. Will manage the financial and statement models to create original concepts.
Will create concepts for photoshoots and lead the facilitation and execution of photoshoots. Will have one to three direct subordinates. Will engage in ten percent or less domestic and international travel.
