Web Experience Collective (WXC) is seeking a "lead designer" that understands no boundary between form and function when it comes to building engaging experiences. A "Lead Designer" with an eye for the details but is also highly strategic in approach. They must have a multi-skilled passion and mastery for visual design, experience design, interface construction, branding and storytelling.

Candidates must be obsessively collaborative both with other design teams, engineering teams and marketing groups. This intense collaboration is the only way to achieve success.

This role must default to a making/building mindset. We in doubt build something and test it. Embracing quick prototyping and testing is a must.

  • Irreproachable love of all aspects of typography, design, user experience, and motion.

  • Experience in solving complex problems and the storytelling to make the solution real.

  • Background in working in collaborative, iterative teams where work is shared often and openly.

  • Mastery of design tools and familiarity with prototyping tools.

  • Excellent command of visual communication skills and desire to inspire others.

In this role, you will help us rethink the design of our homepages across Microsoft web experiences, visited by hundreds of millions of users daily. We need someone with strong visual and typography background who can think in terms of app frameworks and content layout. We're looking for someone with strengths in bridging teams together toward a common goal; able to communicate a clear point of view through engaging designs. Our team is open to untraditional backgrounds and equivalent experiences to the qualifications below. * Deep industry experience embedded in a product design team * Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in Interaction Design, Graphic/Communications Design, Industrial or Product Design, Human-Computer Interactions, Psychology, or related field * Experience designing and implementing user interfaces, whether as a professional or as a volunteer, hobbyist, or freelancer * Experience with modern design tools like Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, or Sketch (design-focused roles will require fluency in Figma on the job) * Demonstrated sense of interaction design attuned to the fundamentals of user experience, including accessibility and inclusive design * Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to energize teams and advocate for your ideas * Knowledge of UX research methodologies and analyzing research data * Strong problem-solving skills demonstrated in visual design skills or user research rigor.
