Position summary

This position is responsible for crafting and supporting specialty equipment required for the manufacture of transmission and engine components worldwide. The individual will build design concepts, layouts, assemblies, and component drawings that meet company guidelines related to established CAD procedures and standards with limited supervision. The individual must be an expert in operating SolidWorks and AutoCad software systems as the need arises by the department. By following industry standards, they will build detailed drawings and models. Producing accurate working 2D drawings and 3D models, the responsibility of entering data in the appropriate PDM system for release to a project build process is theirs. They must show a strong foundation in analytical skills based in broad Engineering fields. Training or proven knowledge in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing is helpful. All functions will be performed while focusing on standard methodologies to minimize project costs. May be required to have a high level of contact directly with customers with the added capability of troubleshooting project builds. May take part in the development of design standards for machines, tools, and techniques. Must demonstrate a high degree of creativity and understanding of manufacturing processes and tolerances.

Key accountabilities

• Considers and seeks out the impact of their actions within the team. Actively seeks collaboration with internal and external team members.

• CAD knowledge and rapid use of the CAD tools in the generation of designs and detailed drawings.

• Produces clear designs using accepted drafting standards and conventions.

• Knowledge of product mechanics for hydraulic, mechanical, magnetic, and electromechanical products and systems as appropriate.

• Material selection, standards, and use knowledge.

• Apply new analysis technologies as assigned.

• Prepares visual aids for Engineers and Sales.

• Provides a smooth interchange of ideas and information between supervisors, engineers, co-workers, and customers.

• Work is requested and completed with moderate decision-making.

• Assigned work requires the assembly of components within existing product designs.

• Knowledge of machine safety and ergonomics.

What we are looking for

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Design, or related subject area preferred.

• 2+years of related experience.

• SolidWorks (Required, high proficiency).

• AutoCAD, Espirt CAD/CAM, and Virtual Gibbs CAD/CAM.

Salary

• Ranges fro $60,000 - $85,000 depending on experience.
