Department Summary
The Department of Housing and Residence Life at the University of North Texas is a growing organization which serves over 6400 students in 14 residence halls. Our department is organized into the following areas:
Residence Life, Systems and Services, and Facilities and Business Operations. UNT Housing contributes to the mission of the university by promoting safe and inclusive living environments, fostering student connections and campus engagement, and providing diverse learning opportunities.
Position Overview
Manage design and furniture projects for Auxiliary Services. This position will be responsible for oversight of design and furnishing projects and renovations, including capital and major renovations, ensuring that projects are completed according to plans and specifications. This position provides project management coordination services for assigned projects for the entire project deliver from concept design through completions/occupancy.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Architecture, Interior Design, Engineering or related field and four years' of professional related experience; or any equivalent combination of experience, education, and training.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Excellent communication skills
Physical ability to access work areas which may be in confined spaces or elevated heights
Proficiency in specific software may be required
Preferred Qualifications
Design experience with student housing and auxiliary projects
Required License/Registration/Certifications
Job Duties:
Coordinates design implementation for minor projects within Housing, Dining, and Union.
Manages and coordinates the work of contractors and furniture vendors.
Prepares drawings using AutoCAD or other drawing software.
Works with purchasing officials on procurement or materials and services.
Serves on departmental task forces and committees for large-scale projects.
Assists with the selection of consultants and contractors.
Work Schedule:
Monday-Friday 8am to 5pm; Occasional evenings and weekends
