Senior Design Engineer - Material Handling

Actalent is seeking a Senior Design Engineer for a major company in the Material Handling industry

Description:

This Design Engineer is the middle employee between the internal design team and the vendors. This person will do a design review of the concepts the drafting team has completed, then work with the vendor for final design/build and retrofits. They will do the final checks and balances for design functionality after installation.

Key job responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate design and innovation efforts to develop optimal solutions for the sortation and transportation network through equipment specification, material flow, process design, site layout, and intellectual property considerations.

• Collaboration with internal teams and external vendors to generate high-quality, cost-effective solutions in very short periods of time.

• Simultaneously manage multiple projects and tasks while effectively influencing, negotiating, and communicating with internal and external business partners, contractors and vendors.

• Provide technical leadership for large-scale engineering projects

• Effective communication skills, ability to execute the vision, detailed roadmap, and specific technical solutions to make a compelling business case with senior executives.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineer or related is required

• Experience in Mechanical Design of Material Handling Systems is required

• Conveyor design experience is required

• Experience working with vendors ( project management ) is preferred

• Technical Communication Systems
