This position is responsible for the demand management specifically rolling 18 - 36 month sales forecast for business products assigned

Examine historical shipments utilize statistical forecast tools collect forecast information input from Sales and documents the assumptions used in developing the forecast

Examine historical shipments marketing/category trends including consumption and utilize statistical forecast tools

Collect forecast information input from Marketing used in developing the forecast by item by week by customer and geography location where applicable. Feed assumptions to the Demand Planner to be integrated into the forecast

Track and report actual demand vs. forecast and assumptions and is responsible for eliminating forecast bias and for continuously improving forecast accuracy results.

Provide recommendations to the Demand Planner for adjusting forecast as results vary and for recommending shifts of customer demand or allocating shipments in situations when supply is constrained in order to maximize strategic customer service.

Complete all required education and training and participates in implementation and development of new forecasting software.

Continuously improve technical capability in the use of the forecasting tool and in creating accurate forecasts.

First contact for Sales and Customer Marketing (Trade) regarding variances outside tolerance and in gathering building blocks/assumptions applied to forecasts

Work closely with Marketing or Sales leadership in identifying forecast assumptions that are likely to significantly affect forecast accuracy performance and effectiveness

Responsible to conduct yourself and ensure your subordinates (if applicable) conduct themselves in a manner consistent with company mission values code of ethics policies and other standards of conduct.


Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent

Years of Related Experience: 5-7 years related experience


  • Ability to demonstrate an understanding of project management processes and supply chain principles.

  • Demonstrates managerial experience and professional leadership skills ability to effectively communicate verbally and written technical and non- technical information across various levels of the organization.

  • Have Knowledge/skills in Windows Excel and Word.

  • Have an understanding of JDA Nielsen MEI functionality business processes as well as related interfaces and data exchanges as they correlate to supply chain.

  • Have a basic understanding of SAP.

  • Must posses strong written and oral communication skills as well as strong presentation skills.

  • Must be analytical with strong complex problem-solving skills demonstrate attention to detail.

  • Must exhibit high levels of organization skills such as; the ability to work independently and under stressful situations the ability to adapt to the changing needs of the organization.

  • Must be able to lead and facilitate projects and analyze software systems and data as well as business processes.

  • Must have the ability to understand and create budgets position requires intermediate financial analysis skills.

  • Must be able to supervise staff include policy administration performance appraisals discipline and supervisory employment and bidding selections.

This role is responsible to load a plan that supports the Sales Schedule. Maintain the shortage file, continuously modify the sales schedule and build plan as the short term forecast changes, re plan for pre build configurations depending on customer order and to distribute the workload uniformly throughout the quarter in a way to optimize the material flow and labor burden. Responsibilities * Works with other schedulers to create and plan for future periods as well as to review the current plan. Implements the decisions made by the team by modeling them in the Subassembly Production Schedule, and then manages the MRP runs to provide procurement signals to purchasing team * Coordinates closely and continually with other schedulers to update the schedule in accordance with changes to the forecast, changes to tool configurations, inventory and labor availability, etc. * Places Purchase Orders for Service, Expedites and Returns with Suppliers * Communicates Sales production plan changes and potential work stoppage issues. Proactively initiates solutions to scheduling, material and manufacturing challenges. Notifies purchasing staff when MRP update runs are complete and provides a briefing of the net changes * Provide input on to Production Planner on item master settings such as Lead-time, Period of supply, Safety stock * Generates, communicates, utilizes key performance data relating to schedule commit dates, activity levels, material status, and documentation accuracy to relevant managers Qualifications Education & Experience: * BS/BS * Five years of related planning experience in a low volume, high value, custom configured capital equipment manufacturing environment Knowledge: * Strong knowledge of ERP/MRP systems, standard business practices, and production scheduling methodology.
