Nemours is seeking a Senior Decision Support System Analyst (Reimbursement), FULL-TIME, to join our Nemours Children's Hospital team in Orlando, Florida.

Located in Orlando, Fla., Nemours Children's Hospital is the newest addition to the Nemours integrated healthcare system. Our 100-bed pediatric hospital also features the area's only 24-hour Emergency Department designed just for kids as well as outpatient pediatric clinics including several specialties previously unavailable in the region. Job Duties

The Senior DSS System Analyst role sits at the intersection between Business and Information Technology. This position assists with the data analysis, data extract development, testing, data load monitoring and ongoing day-to-day application support of the cost accounting software at Nemours. Additionally, this position helps to resolve technical issues through debugging, research, and investigation. Expectations of the position include identifying and ensuring solutions meet business needs, requirements gathering as well as serving as a liaison between the business and IT departments.

  • Assists with projects, which may include assisting project manager in the coordination of project plan activities; ensuring timely and effective communication between all members of the project team regarding daily status and issues; and preparing go live and sign off documents and processes.

  • Provides daily support for existing data integrations, including modifying, testing, validating, and documenting data extracts and assets. Adheres to normal change control processes for these activities.

  • Day-to-day system administration of the cost accounting system which includes monitoring data loads, problem investigation, performing user acceptance testing, and supporting application upgrades.

  • Helps to identify process and procedural issues, may suggest potential solutions, and engages teammates or other teams as required.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree required.

  • Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years experience required.

  • Epic knowledge is a plus. Also, knowledge of EPSi (an Allscripts product) is a plus, but not required.

  • Clear analytical thinking, problem solving and able to respond to issues in a calm, responsive manner.

  • Able to prioritize and make decisions.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to influence stakeholders and work closely with them to determine acceptable solutions.

Experience * One (1) year progressive experience in the Health Information Management field is required. Education/Training * High school graduate or equivalent. * Computer literacy and keyboarding skills required. * Must type a minimum of 30wpm for HIM or 35 wpm for Birth Registry. * Successfully passes a Windows proficiency test, scoring 80% or higher prior to an interview. Medical terminology required for the Cancer Database, anatomy and physiology is beneficial. Essential Functions * Initiates and performs technical procedure to analyze, or reanalyze, and monitor for medical record deficiencies according to Joint * Commission and Medical Staff Rules and Regulations for regulatory requirements. * Reanalyzes loose sheets imaged separately from the discharged medical record. * Gathers statistical data regarding individual physicians' record documentation and completion procedures for reporting to the * Medical Records Committee and any other hospital committee as needed. * Assists medical staff members in all aspects of record completion. * Understands and performs the corporate suspension procedures in the absence of the Corporate HIM Analyst. * Assumes a leadership role in the Record Access and Birth Registry areas. * Monitors work flow in the Record Access and Birth Registry areas to ensure that compliance and turn around times are met. * Trains all new members on HIM systems to ensure compliance and prevent breaches of protected health information (PHI). * Participates in quality audits as requested. * Communicates cooperatively and constructively with physicians, patients, guests, and members of the healthcare team. * Maintains regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local * standards * Complies with all Orlando Health policies and procedures, service expectations and standards of behavior. * Ensures the workflow of all processes within their areas. * Able to maintain compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures. * Able to maintain reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other * federal, state and local standards.
