Client is looking for DBA Consultant who has experiences with DB2/zOS & DB2/LUW Database Administration. The DBA needs to collaborate with the architecture and application teams to set the DevOps technical vision, target architecture, tools and processes across heterogeneous integrated Java and .Net application environments.
Duties:

Contribute to and influence the architecture to ensure the database design and application architecture are aligned to and supported by the DevOps business needs.
Offer thorough and practical solutions to ensure that the DBRM system is functional, performing and scalable to meet business needs.
Install and configure DB2/LUW software.
Perform periodic database software upgrades and patches.
Provide technical analysis and resolutions to difficult DB2/zOS and DB2/LUW database problems. Ensure high availability, backup and recovery of production databases using DB2 related database technology.
Oversee database operation & security standard, backup and recovery, data mirroring, etc.
Propose and implement database and/or SQL performance tuning, planning, configuration, scaling, and capacity management.
Rapidly prototype new ideas and concepts.
Engineer automated processes to minimize repeated and/or manual activities to improve efficiency

VIEW JOBS 1/11/2019 12:00:00 AM 2019-04-11T00:00 Work collaboratively with the DBA Team and other EIS technical staff to install, maintain, troubleshoot, monitor and optimize our Epic applications, environments and the systems they run on. This includes our Epic Cache databases, Epic ancillary Windows applications, and Data Courier migrations and administration. Troubleshoot and resolve issues and incidents related to all the above. 1.Job Responsibilities (the scope of responsibility, department and position levels including knowledge and practice of the clinical/technical skills necessary to the position): 2.Installs, upgrades, maintains and supports Cache databases and Epic Windows related applications on selected server platforms. Seeks assistance from more senior peers on complex issues. 3.Applies Epic server-side updates to all Dev, Test, Train, and Production Cache environments 4.Applies Epic client pack updates to all installed ancillary applications (Web Blob, Interconnect, Hyperspace Web, etc.) 5.Works with other EIS teams to apply and validate Linux/Windows patches to database and application servers. 6.Manages storage associated with databases and assists system administrators with storage allocation and planning related to the database. 7.Monitors and optimizes the performance of database instances in a networked environment. 8.Implements viable database backup, recovery, and high availability strategies and mechanisms. Executes database recovery, restoration, and/or restart as required. 9.Monitors database instance using database administration tools, SQL scripts, and database utilities. Monitors and configures database parameters accordingly. 10.Defines and implements database parameters, security, audit, and resource allocation policies and procedures. Defines, creates, and manages user accounts, profiles, privileges, roles, and required audit information. 11.Communicate and coordinate with other teams (Unix, Oracle, Windows, Network, SAN etc.) related to database, application and environment support and projects. 12.Keeps abreast of current and emerging database trends/technologies. 13.Carries a cell phone / department-supplied laptop and responds to pages in a timely manner. 14.Adheres to change control processes. Maintains version control, administration of scripts for file manipulation and programming access to multiple environments. 15.Responsible for daily Epic build migrations using Epic's Data Courier utility, working closely with application and change teams. Analyze and troubleshoot migration issues. 16.Conducts cross-team training and lessons learned sessions. 17.Maintains documentation of team processes and procedures, including operating manuals or training materials for internally managed databases and systems. 18.Escalates and statuses lead and management on assigned tasks and priority production support issues. 19.Performs other duties as assigned by management or team lead.
