We are looking for a hardworking engineer to join our growing data engineering team. You will have significant experience in building scalable data platforms that enable business intelligence, analytics, data science and data products. You have strong, hands-on technical expertise in devops and data technologies and the proven ability to fashion robust, scalable solutions. You should have a passion for continuous improvement and data quality.

We adopt a wide variety of technologies and work very closely with data engineers and scientists to deliver end to end solutions.   • You will be using cutting edge application and infrastructure deployments

  • Actively involved in creating and enhancing our monitoring and alerting systems

  • Lead security following the InfoSec group's standard methodologies and recommendations

  • You will guide and make recommendations on infrastructure choices, sizing and cost

  • You will actively provide operational support to engineering teams

  • Working with data platform team you will create and maintain infrastructure and process documentation

  • Contribute to the data platform roadmap along with engineering leadership

  • Evaluate new technologies to continually enhance our stack and processes

  • You will get to work with Airflow and managing DAG deployments

Key Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of hands-on experience in DevOps role

  • 2+ years working in a "Data Platform Environment" (Hadoop, Presto, Kafka, etc.)

  • Deep understanding of Unix shell and Python

  • Strong knowledge of AWS platform and technologies (EC2 , S3, IAM, et)

  • Experience working with automation tools such as Ansible, Saltstack, and Terraform

  • Wide range of understanding in version control systems (git), including branching and merging strategies

  • Understanding of release management tools (we use Jenkins)

  • Working experience with directory and authentication protocols such as LDAP and SAML

  • Capable of delivering on multiple competing priorities with little supervision

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent experience

This challenging position will provide an excellent growth opportunity while improving the infrastructure of the city. Job duties include but aren't limited to: * Coordination and integration of multidisciple project functions including but not limited to construction, project controls, quality and commercial administration in a manner to meet project operational and business objectives. * Responsible to establish a culture of safe work performance. * Actively engaged in developing and managing client relations. * Plans, schedules, and coordinates projects to repair, alter and renovate building structure and installed equipment, and supervise a multi-disciplined construction workforce performing work on multiple projects simultaneously. * Provides guidance to employees within the latitude of established policies. * Establishes procedures that affect immediate organization. * Works on issues of diverse scope where analysis of situation or data requires evaluation of a variety of factors, including understanding of current business trends. * Acts as advisor to subordinates to meet schedules and/or resolve technical problems. Staffing ranging in size from 5 to 20 individuals * May have budget responsibilities. Erroneous decision or failure to achieve results adds to costs and may impact short-term goals of organization. * Oversees the administration of projects during the construction cycle including technical, financial, and client satisfaction. Minimum Requirements * BA/BS + 10 years of related experience or AA/AS (US) + 12 years of related experience; all including a minimum of 2 years of leadership * Licensed California Professional Engineer in Civil or structural Engineering * 10+ years experience in field-level design of heavy temporary structures, temporary bracing * 5+ years experience in retrofit/rehabilitation of major steel bridges * Experienced in designing for construction in difficult locations, limited access and severe locations * Experienced in designing bridge structures for seismic loading (zones 3 or 4) * Experienced in bridge design for Caltrans bridge design specifications an AASHTO specifications for permanent and temporary work Preferred Qualifications Additional Information : * Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test. * This position does not include sponsorship for United States work authorization.
