As a Senior Database Engineer, you will be responsible for developing large and complex databases through creation of logical and physical models of data. Provides leadership through demonstrated expertise in the design, implementation, and maintenance of production databases in compliance with application specifications and company policies, standards, and procedures. Manages and maintains all production and non-production databases. Demonstrates a mastery of a dedicated platform (Oracle, MSSQL, etc.). Guides multiple projects as a functional expert.
WHAT OUR SENIOR DATABASE ENGINEERS ENJOY MOST
Actively and consistently supports all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience.
Provide leadership on the creation of physical and logical database models according to the business requirements.
Perform database engineering and administration tasks in, including design/modeling, SQL and script development, SQL and database tuning, data migrations, backups and recoveries, software installations and upgrades, and DBA support (including after-hours when needed) for three-tier, client/server databases.
Collaborate and guide multiple projects by understanding the business requirements for designs, implementation, and production support.
Design, implement and maintain backup and recovery strategies on Database Management Systems.
Provide support for escalations of multiple services and multiple databases of varying complexity with multiple concurrent users, ensuring control, integrity, and accessibility of data.
Expert in setup using OEM as a monitoring and diagnostics tool and identifies/resolves the performance issues.
Provide escalated support in the troubleshooting of alerts (alert log, Jobs, Disk Group, Tablespace etc.) and performance issues.
Perform capacity planning of MSSQL environment and provides recommendations to management to sustain business growth.
Expert in ETL tools and workflow creation, specifically Alteryx.
Design, implement and maintain scheduled jobs to import data from various external systems using ODBC, REST API, and SSIS technologies.
Guide the creation of standard operational procedures and templates.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO SPECTRUM
Required Qualifications
Experience:
10+ years of experience working with MSSQL and various database management systems in engineering, testing, implementation, maintenance, and administration in a multiple platform environment.
7+ years dedicated to a specific platform (MSSQL, Oracle, etc.) demonstrated by mastery.
Education:
BA/BS in Information Technology, Computer Science, MIS

The pay for this position has a salary range of $88,200.00 to $156,600.00. The actual salary offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience and location. Also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of compensation such as bonuses.
