Overview
PotomacWave is currently seeking experienced Senior Database Developer to support one of our Federal clients in Washington, DC (L'Enfant Plaza)! Youll be part of a team building and maintaining intranet and reporting services for DHS.
Responsibilities

The candidate will work at the highest technical level of all phases of application programming activities including; estimation of effort based on requirements, mock-up and prototype design, performing testing, and the creating of supporting documentation to include commenting code.
The candidate shall work with stakeholders during all phases of the development life cycle to identify problems, fix coding errors, and implement requested changes in a timely fashion and conduct routine, on-going communications with the COR.
This will include participating in regularly scheduled meetings (in person or by telephone) to provide updates on work in progress, discuss and resolve identified issues, and other matters which may arise during the period of performance
Qualifications
The candidate shall have 8+ years experience using C# and SQL professionally and be up to date on the standards.
Education/Certifications
A bachelors degree from an accredited university in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
Clearance Requirements
Candidate must be a US citizen eligible for a DHS Suitability
Existing DHS EOD suitability or security clearance is a plus

The Project Specialists will need to be comfortable working in a fast paced environment with shifting priorities, vague requirements, rapid iterations and commutations with Senior Government Officials. Provide support for the production of trends analysis using CBP apprehensions and intelligence data. Required to create, maintain, and update various Access databases and Excel spreadsheets for tracking U.S. Border Patrol operational intelligence historical data.  Perform statistical percent change analysis and projections. <ul> <li style="padding: 0; margin: 0;" style="padding: 0; margin: 0;">Able to utilize advanced, SQL, PL/SQL and/or T-SQL functionalities in working with products such as Aqua Data Studio, TOAD and/or SQL Developer.</li> <li style="padding: 0; margin: 0;" style="padding: 0; margin: 0;">Create complex Excel formulas to research and produce useful statistics from large set of data results. Generate new and/or modify existing U.S. Border Patrol standardized and canned reports to provide statistical reports with percent change analysis and projections.</li> <li style="padding: 0; margin: 0;" style="padding: 0; margin: 0;">Write and maintain complex SQL queries for data mining from various internal and external databases. Manipulate large data sets to develop statistical models and methodologies in a fast paced environment.</li> <li style="padding: 0; margin: 0;" style="padding: 0; margin: 0;">Give briefs on statistics, analyses, and projections to Senior Government Officials.</li> <li style="padding: 0; margin: 0;" style="padding: 0; margin: 0;">Able to prepare and present technical briefings, white papers, executives summaries, and other communications vehicles to Senior Government Officials to achieve USBP goals and objectives.</li> <li style="padding: 0; margin: 0;" style="padding: 0; margin: 0;">Ensure data integrity in enforcement systems and provide recommendations on improving the integrity of the systems.</li> <li style="padding: 0; margin: 0;" style="padding: 0; margin: 0;">Conduct analysis research and analyze U.S. Border Patrol’s datasets for system and processing errors. Able to investigate data anomalies to determine root causes.</li> <li style="padding: 0; margin: 0;" style="padding: 0; margin: 0;">Independently write brief summary white papers of the findings and present the issues and recommendations via System Change Requests to ensure U.S. Border Patrol’s data integrity of U.S. Border Patrol’s systems.</li> <li style="padding: 0; margin: 0;" style="padding: 0; margin: 0;">Query information in the enforcement systems in order to verify data is accurate and complete information and support various requests and reporting requirements. </li> <li style="padding: 0; margin: 0;" style="padding: 0; margin: 0;">Must be able to define and document data quality assurance standard reports within U.S. Border Patrol systems to address data issues and minimize errors. </li> <li style="padding: 0; margin: 0;" style="padding: 0; margin: 0;">Able to write and manage all new and/or existing Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) manual training documents for the Statistics Data Integrity (SDI) Branch, include, but are not limited to: Daily, Weekly, Monthly, and Data Quality reports.</li> <li style="padding: 0; margin: 0;" style="padding: 0; margin: 0;">Proficiency in Aqua Data Studios, MS Office Suite, included but not limited to Excel, MS Access.
