We are looking for a very qualified and skilled database administrator to join our team in NYC or you can work remotely anywhere in the US or Denmark. You will be responsible for extending and maintaining our enterprise data warehouse and own the core data pipeline and the systems it integrated with. We expect you to be a very SQL tech-savvy professional, who is curious about new digital technologies and aspires to combine huge amounts of data with automated systems to maintain and keep things efficient. The role comes with a lot of flexibility in terms of technologies that you will be using daily, and you will have a lot of say in terms of how those technologies should be used.

You will be working with a team of very skilled professionals that has a high drive and strives for better and faster, and we will expect the same from you. You will be focusing on helping getting data into our warehouse for ease of extracting and querying from mainly our Marketing department. Data transformation and aggregation is key to keep our systems fast and responsive.

Senior Database Administrator Tasks:

  • Be the owner of the core data pipeline and be excited about ETL

  • Design, develop, deploy, test, and maintain data processing solutions to support analysts

  • Maintain and develop the data model based on business- and engineering needs

  • Integrate external data sources into the data warehouse

  • Optimize existing processes and integrations to allow faster throughout

  • Support requested ad-hoc data queries, analysis, and reports

  • Building automated error checking to monitor and facilitate data synchronization

  • Help and be part of analyzing feedback to allow us to continuously improve our offerings

  • Assist in creating functional requirements documentation and guides

  • Participate in meetings (internal as well as external) and standups

  • Be part of the decision process in terms of technologies and processes

  • Work with our highly skilled and dedicated backend developers to further integrate our internal systems with our data warehouse

  • Participate in pager duty and call rotation to ensure system stability

Minimum Requirements:

  • 7+ years of experience with data warehousing and the integration of multiple data sources

  • Experience in developing tools for monitoring, reporting, analysis, and data transformations

  • You must be able to provide examples of a software and scripts that you have been part of building in the past

  • Extensive hands-on experience with relational databases and SQL

  • Must have experience with both PostgreSQL and MS SQL

  • Experience with NoSQL databases

  • Must have experience with Redshift

  • Experience using Git for maintaining code and scripts

Bonus Skills and Experience:

  • Experience using Solr

  • Experience with Etlworks a great plus

  • Advanced experience (performance tuning, etc.) with PostgreSQL a great plus

  • Experience with Asp.Net (Core)

  • Understanding and experience with the medical industry

  • Understanding and experience with GDPR compliance

  • An ability to perform well in a fast-paced environment

  • Experience working with high volume data platforms

The Senior Database Administrator also is responsible for the maintenance of databases, which includes but is not limited to: production support, security and auditing, performance turning, backup and recovery, data replication, DR testing and documentation. Duties and Responsibilities: * Provide 24x7 support to production and critical project including participating in a weekly on call rotation. * Management of Oracle software versions, installations, upgrades and patch installations across all production and non-production environments. * Provide database management and support for Oracle Enterprise 12c (CDB/PDB) environments, including setup, configuration, deployment, backup/restore, monitoring, alerting, auditing and security. * Responsible for the development and implementation of preventative maintenance routines to ensure availability and performance of database files and their related management systems. * Monitoring of database server performance, making and implementing tuning recommendations, capacity planning, database security and data integrity including backup/recovery with RMAN and other tools, export/import etc. * Support enterprise capacity and performance planning efforts, capacity planning, maintaining and auditing security roles, cloning systems to development environments, patch management. * Provide internal consulting to internal customers' complex database-related issues, systems, and implementation projects. * Refresh development and test databases with production data as requested * Enforce user access control based on the company compliance policy. Provide weekly, quarterly and adhoc audit reports to Information Security Officers. * Ensure proper security of all databases and their respective database management systems within the corporation including maintaining and auditing security roles, auditing security and account management functions. * Perform periodic database backup restore and DR test exercises. * Responsible for the development of documentation to perform tasks listed above. Supervisory Responsibilities: Individual Contributor. No supervisory responsibilities. Minimum Qualifications: * Education: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field. At least 7 years of Oracle database administration experience within a specific technology. * Years of relevant experience: A minimum of 7+ years of relevant experience is required.
