Senior Data Systems Analyst

$95,971.00 - $143,936.00

The Senior Data Systems Analyst must be knowledgeable regarding business processing needs involved in hospital and clinical cost financing and operations. Analyzes, provides specifications for, and writes individual reports for assigned applications. Serve as the primary data and reporting resource and has responsibility and focus on system support, maintenance, data analysis, design, specifications documentation and versioning of all reporting components used to build, manage and perform multisystem clinical and hospital reporting. Provide report and system support for enterprise wide applications. Design, develop and maintain data warehouse, data-marts, ETL services, analytics cubes, reports and dashboards to provide BI solutions to meet the user requirements.

• Design and document the general functional requirements and detailed technical specifications for a report/database.

• Assess reporting needs for customers and evaluate requests for completeness. Prepare detailed specifications, technical and user documentation from which data-marts, reports, downloads, and extracts are developed. Ensure complete and accurate logical definition of data. Ensure appropriate user access to datasets and reports. Train users on new report functionality.

• Create, test, develop documentation, maintain and troubleshoot dashboards, data-marts, ETL services, reports and data warehouse environments in an optimal manner to minimize the effect on production and development activities.

• Maintain data integrity and the ongoing quality control of delivered reports. Validate system build/report design and perform audits and report findings of security and data controls.

• Investigate, resolve and perform follow-up tasks on system and related problems. Collaborate to seek resolution of system design conflicts for points of integration and communicates risk implications to team lead/project manager.

• Analyze data results to extract meaningful insights and trends.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree required. Equivalent related experience may be considered in lieu of degree.

• Epic Clarity certification highly preferred.

• Healthcare experience in clinical cost finance and operations preferred.

• Minimum of five years' experience in designing, building, testing and supporting report development, data analysis and complex problem solving is required. Previous Epic reporting experience with various Epic modules also preferred. Healthcare experience in clinical cost finance and operations preferred.

• Demonstrated expertise working with Teradata databases, relational database concepts and query tools including data management practices, logical data design and data modeling required. Sound knowledge of SQL programming and data extraction methodologies also required. In depth training and expertise with some of the following: SQL Server, T-SQL programming, SSIS, SSRS, and data visualization preferred. Ability to research, organize, analyze, and synthesize data to support effective decision making as well as work within tight deadlines. Exceptional interpersonal skills, able to deal effectively with diverse personalities. Excellent oral and written skills. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, email, intranet, internet and other systems.
