BNY Mellon is seeking Data Scientists & Machine LearningEngineers to work with us as we transform our Clearance and CollateralTechnology (CCT) group into a data driven organization. The Collateral& Clearance Technology group is responsible for building high-performancecritical market platforms.

The group designs, builds and supports the platformused for US Triparty Repo and Global Collateral Services solutions. Thisservice has 85% of the US Triparty Repo business with $2.7trn of assetsglobally. This group supports the most critical client-facing services for BNYMellon.

As a senior member of the team, you will create meaningful stories focused on deep insights, and will befluent across various technologies and tools relevant for quantitativedecision-making. You will be responsible forworking with vast amounts of financial data to derive insights and makepredictions about our clients and the markets in which they operate.

Yourprimary focus will be in mining and preparing data, performingstatistical analysis, implementing machine learning algorithms, andproductionilizing your models to integrate with our existing systems &products. In addition to working with the rest of our technology team, you willwork with our business team to derive and select use-cases best suited formachine learning solutions based on client demand and market inefficiencies.

Sr. PrincipalDeveloper->> Consults with internal business groups to provide highlyadvanced application software development services or technical support.

Consultsto IT and business managers on issues, questions and problems related tohis/her area of expertise. Accountable for resolving highly complex problemsthat have impact on the corporation's ability to conduct business. Usesin-depth knowledge of various technologies to establish and influenceimplementation of broad-based technology strategy for large IT Divisions.

Staysabreast of emerging technologies and identifies potential use of new andexisting technology within lines of business by participating in industry-wideconferences and research and by using in-depth knowledge of various businessareas. Educates business leaders and prepares presentations for the business onIT strategies. Advocates for innovative, creative technology solutions.

Contributesto the achievement of Application Development objectives. Qualifications

  • Master's degree or PhD (Computer Science, Math, Physics, Engineering)

  • At least 5 years of relevant work experience

  • Applied Machine Learning experience - modeling and implementation

  • Thorough understanding of various statistical and machine learning algorithms

  • Proficient in Python with open source libraries such as TensorFlow and data engineering pipelines such as Apache Spark

  • Excellent analytical and big-data skills

  • Academic/Research background, a plus

  • Previous experience at next-gen analytics or big-data fintech companies strongly preferred

The role requires an individual with excellent technical and programming skills, preferably with an advanced degree in quantitative field (e.g., physics, computer science, mathematics, engineering). Our business J.P. Morgan has the leading Global Rates and Global Spread business in terms of volume traded, issuers traded and quality of investor relationships. The Rates business covers Treasuries, swaps, options and other derivatives, while Spreads covers Credit, SPG, and Public Finance Markets. J.P. Morgan Global Spread and Trading offers first-class, highly integrated financial services to a global client base and provides financial assets and liquidity for banks, insurance companies, finance companies, mutual funds and hedge funds. Traders, salespeople and research analysts work collectively to generate ideas. The Credit business make secondary markets in high grade bonds/CDS, high yield bonds/CDS, distressed bonds, indices, options, correlation products, and more exotic structures.
