What you will be doing

The Data Product Management Team uses data to drive business strategy, innovation, and improvements to customer needs, and solve business problems.

As a senior level Data Product Manager, you are a key enabler for unlocking the value of our data! This critical role will work closely with business stakeholders, data consumers, data producers, and data engineers to develop a vision and roadmap for data within its assigned subject area. Then, executing on that roadmap to onboard data assets; establish relevant standards and processes; and enable teams across Albertsons to find, understand, trust, and access the data they need.

The position will be based out of our Pleasanton, CA Corporate office.

Main responsibilities

  • Own the roadmap, prioritization, and delivery of fit for purpose data and insights for retail store operations.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders, both business and data engineering, to prioritize and align with business objectives.

  • Collaborate with data producers and consumers to set data quality expectations, SLAs and monitoring requirements.

  • Work with business leaders and business analysts to ensure metrics are defined and agreed.

  • Prioritize work in the data engineering backlog to meet business objectives.

  • Facilitates cross-functional working groups to solicit input and feedback.

  • Enforce data standards and practices that fulfill enterprise data policies.

  • Provide reporting and metrics to data governance committee and partners.

  • Identify, implement, and operationalize processes to maximize product adoption.

The salary range is $ 118,100 to $ 165,380. Starting salary will vary based on criteria such as location, experience, and qualifications. Benefits may include medical, dental, vision, disability and life insurance, sick pay, PTO/Vacation pay/Flexible Time Off, paid holidays (8-9 days annually) bereavement pay and retirement benefits (such as 401(k) eligibility). Associates in this position are also eligible for a quarterly bonus.

What we are searching for

  • 4-year degree and/or equivalent combination of education or work experience.

  • 5+ years of managing data and analytics product teams.

  • An Agile Product Management mindset.

  • Customer and health data experience.

  • Passion for creating business value with data is required.

  • E-commerce / Retail background beneficial.

  • Domain experience in data and analytics is preferred.

Experience:

  • with enterprise data and analytics technology & tools.

  • Metadata management is highly beneficial.

  • with data profiling or defining data quality rules beneficial.

Ability to:

  • translate business requirements into critical data dependencies and requirements.
  • communicate effectively via multiple channels (verbal, written, etc.) with technical and non-technical staff.
  • work collaboratively across teams, including with the data warehouse users, IT Business Analysts and all levels of the organization including senior leadership.
