About the Role

This role will join Jellyfishs Data and Planning team, a broad and diverse team encompassing brand, data and media planners, analysts, data scientists and email specialists as well as being part of the wider global data and insights function spanning hundreds of skilled individuals.

All with the common goal of using data expertise to inspire clients, partners and Jellyfish to jointly execute best in class marketing fueled by data rich insights.

The typical day-to-day will involve managing multiple campaign projects and to be seen as the teams first port of call for day-to-day data planning enquiries.


  • Define a measurement framework that is reflective of account strategies by identifying the proper data sources and KPIs aligned to business goals and illustrate campaign effectiveness
  • Evaluate various attribution modeling techniques and methodologies including DDA models from Campaign Manager, Google Analytics, Facebook Attribution
  • Evaluate customer journeys and data signals across the customer lifecycle that will inform audience targeting and media flighting
  • Define and manage audiences that can be shared across Jellyfish partner and client ecosystem (e.g. Google, Facebook, LiveRamp, Salesforce, Segment)
  • Plan measurement proposals to evaluate and refine activity, including test and learn, conversion lift studies and deeper analysis
  • Design and create data visualizations for marketing performance data
  • Identify opportunity to solve recurring client challenges and innovate the product portfolio
  • Mentor junior members of the team


What youll need

Knowledge and experience of implementing attribution models either using specific technologies or leveraging functions within standard analytics or ad serving technologies such as Campaign Manager, Google Analytics 360, SA360 or other attribution platforms

Experience of working in a Data Planning and Analytics environment, preferably at an agency

Understanding of the levers a digital marketer may pull to influence marketing outcomes

Understanding of the implications of data protection regulations on technologies and processes

Experience of working with diverse data sources across multiple channels to produce insight

Attention to detail combined with a careful approach to process

Clear, concise and engaging communications skills and the ability to distil and translate complex analysis into actionable insights that a client will understand

An outgoing, curious thinker, with consistent levels of evident enthusiasm


Experience with GA360, web and app experience optimization / personalization platforms and/or Paid Social interfaces

Knowledge and experience of CRM platforms such as Salesforce and omni-channel marketing

Proficiency in the use of marketing and business intelligence platforms such as Datorama, Tableau, or equivalent

Knowledge of Python/R or SQL

Knowledge of segmentation, propensity modelling or customer lifetime value

TEGNA is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Senior Data Engineer to lead the team building cutting edge Ad Tech products in Delivery, Forecasting, Campaign management and reporting. Part of the growing Product development team, the candidate should have experience defining the product strategy and roadmap, creating implementation goals and working with the internal and external teams to execute on the strategy. Applies expertise in state-of-the-art digital technologies and is relied on by top management to serve as a proxy for the market. This person is a multi-tasker with attention to detail, who is comfortable being the go-to expert for Digital Ad-Tech. He/She is obsessive about customer needs and can create a collaborative work environment to address those needs; makes decisions based on data and involving all areas of the business as part of the product development lifecycle. Responsibilities: * Oversees and directs the work of Ad Tech Support Specialist and Business Analyst/ Project Lead positions, including creating an ongoing training and development plan * Define, prioritize, and maintain Premion's tactical roadmap for our customer-facing applications, in alignment with our strategic vision. * Daily Interactions with senior management to keep abreast of objectives. * Develop product strategy and vision for Ad Tech products in Delivery, Forecasting, Campaign management and post campaign reporting by using in-depth understanding of Premion. * Executes product development from conception to launch. * Serve as the domain expert for your area, with a deep understanding of the ad tech landscape, its table stakes, as well as how Premion can differentiate. * Authors product requirements and user stories in conjunction (with stakeholders as necessary) ensuring that market needs are met. Ensures documentation of product requirements and business logic are accounted for and up-to-date. * Create buy-in for the product vision, both internally and with key external partners; Manage prioritization and trade-offs among all stakeholders. * Proactively identify, troubleshoot and resolve strategic issues that may impair the team's ability to meet technical or strategic goals. Requirements: * Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related fields of study * 5 + years' experience managing an agile design-driven, user-centered product and development team * Proven ability to partner effectively across functions, with an exposure to complex organizations and the ability to gain shared vision on product decisions and priority trade-offs * Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with meticulous attention to detail. Ability to communicate technical issues simply to help drive fast decisions * Patience and commitment, with willingness to navigate environments though product knowledge and leadership style. Self-motivated with a willingness to learn and adapt in a changing environment * Experience researching industry trends and applying to product strategy & roadmap * Deep experience with identity, data privacy, audience targeting, cross-device graphs and related technologies * A passion for products.
