The position in the Infrastructure Operations & Support team is responsible for providing Senior level Network support and administration. Job Functions include support of corporate data, video and voice networks employed at FM Global. The candidate is responsible for the administration of network hardware and software, network monitoring and compliance, and must demonstrate high level knowledge in Cisco routing and switching or wireless networking disciplines.
Primary responsibilities include:
Manages ticket queues and responds to incident tickets received from the service desk.
Performs operational support for data networking equipment and services including those related to routers, switches, firewalls, remote access equipment, wireless, bandwidth management and termination devices, VLAN segmentation, and cable/fiber infrastructure wiring and conduit systems.
Troubleshoots network issues through the use of tools and methodologies. Demonstrates ability to identify root causes and develop sound solutions. Successfully works with external support resources when required.
Maintains a high-level of communication and teamwork across other groups to successfully accomplish goals & objectives.
Develops and maintains related data network documentation including clear, well-written installation design/build procedures, network diagrams, and associated network operating procedures.
Utilizes network performance tools to produce reports/dashboards and analyze, recommend, and implement system improvements
Implements required updates to maintain compliance with security pathing and vulnerability management
Demonstrates a fundamental working knowledge of FM Global's business processes.
Based on management direction and assigned tasks, plans and prioritizes daily workload and escalates issues to management in a timely fashion.
Plans and executes small to mid-size technical projects within the network area.
This role includes rotating on-call and disaster recovery support.
Education and Experience
Proven understanding of data networking components and concepts
BA Information Technology or a related field preferred
5 years administering networks in an enterprise environment
Solid knowledge of network architecture and administration
Demonstrated experience administering and troubleshooting
Cisco Routing/Switching, Wireless, Catalyst and Nexus environments.
Working knowledge of enterprise level DNS, DHCP and IP Address Management
Working knowledge of enterprise level load balancing systems (F5)
Working knowledge of enterprise level firewalls and network security standards and practices. (Palo Alto)
Experience with troubleshooting Cloud based environments (Azure/AWS)
Experience with administering and troubleshooting of Cisco security environments (ASA, ISE)
Project management experience preferred
Experience with automation tools (Powershell/Bash/Python/Perl)
Ability to stay abreast of current enterprise network technologies
Cisco Certifications preferred
