Senior Data Integration & Pipeline Engineer

Security Benefit is searching for an experienced Senior Data Integration & Pipeline Engineer to join our team. SB associates are working a hybrid schedule with both remote and on-site work. This position may be based in Topeka, Kansas, Overland Park, Kansas or remote for the right candidate.

What Does the Job Look Like?

This individual will support data related initiatives and work closely with our team to design, implement, and scale the organization's overall data integration processes and architecture. The engineer will work with our team to build, deploy, and support custom data pipelines, data warehouses, data lakes, APIs, Cloud-based integrations, and internal platforms. Since the organization is in the beginning stages of a major transformational effort, this role is a unique opportunity to make incredibly impactful contributions.

• Responsible for architecture, design, administration, and development of Data Ingestion Layer as part of Data Strategy, especially using service-based architecture.

• Defines and develops configurations, and operational/administration guidelines for data integration layer to provide it as a service to internal teams.

• Develops ETL, ELT and other service-based integration jobs as part of overall Data application delivery.

• Works with data team members to prepare data or provide real time data to Data Lake, an Enterprise Data Hub or Data Warehouse, using latest cloud-based technologies like Snowflake.

Who Are You?

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Business Information Systems or related field preferred

• Ten (10) years of data management and integration experience such as data management data process ownership and/or data factory required

• Three plus (3+) years of Snowflake experience is strongly preferred

• Two plus (2+) years of Matillion experience is strongly preferred

• Technologist with a strong background in the design and development of the Data Integration Layer using a service-based architecture

• Exposure to design & development using API services to provide data as a service and strong knowledge of SQL

• Excellent written and verbal communication with the ability to communicate openly and honestly with colleagues. Takes personal responsibility for the quality and content of the work, and complies with information confidentiality requirements where applicable

• The ability to sell ideas and processes internally at all levels.

• Partnering with Solution Architects, to assist with the development of solution architecture roadmaps, convert business requirements into an architecture blueprint and conceptual design, based on the Architecture standards and usage guidelines.

• Exposure to Business Intelligence tools such as Power BI and Qlik

• Flexibility to adjust to multiple demands, shifting priorities, ambiguity and rapid change

• Proven track record in operating data governance programs

• Results oriented with the demonstrated ability to apply strategic and decisive problem solving skills in ambiguous situations

• Design, develop, and configure Robotic Process Automation (RPA) software systems to meet business process and application requirements

• Experience wth UIPath highly beneficial
