As a Senior Data Engineer, you will be responsible for working with team of data engineers in designing, developing, and maintaining our data infrastructure and systems. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful delivery of data-driven solutions that meet business objectives.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Participate in requirements gathering in a structured format, such as a requirements user stories or traceability matrix. Clearly define functional requirements (what the system should do) and non-functional requirements (quality attributes such as performance, security, and scalability).

• Collaborate with stakeholders to prioritize requirements based on business value, urgency, and feasibility. Identify critical and change requirements that must be addressed in the initial phase of the project versus those that can be deferred or phased over time.

• Proactively seeks out opportunities to address customer needs and influences stakeholders so that we are building the best solutions for the most important problems.

• Implement testing, validation, and pipeline observability to ensure data pipelines are meeting business users SLAs.

• Establish and enforce data governance policies, standards, and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and best practices for data management.

• Document data engineering processes, workflows, and data lineage to facilitate knowledge sharing and maintain data lineage for auditing and compliance purposes.

• Build the infrastructure required for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from a wide variety of data sources using SQL and 'Data Vault' technologies.

• Lead and mentor a team of data engineers in designing, building, and maintaining scalable data pipelines and ETL processes.

• Provide technical leadership and guidance on data engineering projects, ensuring adherence to project timelines and deliverables.

• Work with stakeholders including the Executive, Sales, Operations, Finance, and Technology teams to assist with data-related technical issues and support their data infrastructure needs.

• Work with data and analytics experts to strive for greater functionality in our data systems.

• Perform code reviews, troubleshooting, and optimization to address performance issues and ensure scalability and reliability of data systems.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.

• Experience in data engineering, data warehousing, or a related field.

• Minimum of ten (10) years' experience in data development or relevant experience.

• Experience with SQL and relational databases such as SQL Server.

• Experience with cloud technologies such as AWS, GCP etc.

• Knowledge of data modeling and schema design.

• Experience with data integration and ETL tools such as SSIS, WhereScape.

• Ability to perform root cause analysis on internal and external data and processes to answer specific business questions and identify opportunities for improvement.

• Ability to build processes supporting data transformation, data structures, metadata, dependency, and workload management.
