Job Summary and Qualifications

As a Senior Cloud Data Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing our data pipeline architecture, ensuring efficient data processing and analysis using Google Cloud Services. You will work closely with data scientists, analysts, and other engineers to support various data initiatives and ensure optimal data delivery architecture.

In this role you will:

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL processes using Google Cloud Services, particularly Cloud Composer and Dataflow.

• Experience with Google Cloud Services, including Cloud Composer, Dataflow, BigQuery, and related tools.

• Develop robust, reusable and efficient Python code to automate data processing tasks

• Implement and optimize data processing workflows using Apache PySpark

• Experience with asynchronous programming in Python using libraries like asyncio and concurrent.futures.

• Utilize BigQuery for data storage, processing, and analysis to support business intelligence and analytics needs.

• Proficiency in writing complex SQL queries and integrating them with Python for data extraction and manipulation.

• Knowledge of Python-based ETL frameworks such as Apache Airflow for orchestrating data workflows.

• Extensive experience in writing and optimizing complex SQL queries for large datasets.

• Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts, including schema design, star/snowflake schemas, and data modeling.

• Ability to create and manage efficient ETL processes to ensure data is accurately and efficiently loaded into data warehouses.

• Experience with data warehousing solutions and architecture, ensuring scalability, performance, and reliability.

• Knowledge of data partitioning, indexing, and other optimization techniques to improve query performance.

• Support Data ingestion pipelines, data processing workflows, and data storage solutions using GCP services such as Cloud Storage, Big Query, Dataflow, Composer etc.

• Work with other DEs to integrate data solutions into applications.

• Manage & configure data integration processes to extract data from various sources, transform and cleanse it, and load it into appropriate data storage systems.

• Maintain and support ETL processes to ensure data quality and consistency.

• Monitor data pipelines and processes for data quality issues.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and provide technical guidance and support.

• Document data infrastructure, processes, and workflows to ensure knowledge sharing and maintainability.

• Optimize data structures and queries for performance and scalability as problem management for long running jobs

• Deployments on BigQuery, BigQuery object provision automation, BigQuery capacity management (Proactive/Reactive)

• Optimizing and tuning Big Queries, Changes to DDL statements

• Provide configuration details to terraform team.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor in Information Technology or Computer Science or related technical field

• Data Engineering Certification.

• 8-9 years of data engineering

• 8-9 years of SQL experience

• 8-9 years of ETL, SSIS experience

• 8-9 years of designing, building, and maintaining data pipelines

• 3+ years of working in cloud platform

• 2+ years teaching and leading others on team.
