What are we looking for?

BetterHelp is looking for a smart, ambitious and technical leader to join our rapidly growing Data team. You will be responsible for data that is used for business, product, marketing, and broad company analytics. You will own the entire data life cycle. You will develop systems to gather, transform, and surface the data to multiple data consumers via our business intelligence and analytics tools. You will work closely with data analysts and scientists and develop a deep understanding of the core business objectives. You will support the productionization of machine learning pipelines and data science initiatives.

What will you do?

  • Manage, develop, maintain, optimize our ETL/ELT
  • Manage, develop, maintain, optimize our data warehouse
  • Manage, develop, maintain, optimize our BI tools
  • Manage, develop, maintain, optimize our ML pipelines
  • Work with billions of rows of data
  • Work with product managers, marketers, business stakeholders so they have the right data and building strong data trust and governance
  • Be a leader and mentor on this fast growing team
  • Enjoy great teamwork, have lots of fun, and take pride in building a world-class product that makes a difference on people's lives

What will you NOT do?

  • BSc/MA in technical discipline, computer science or mathematics
  • Data Warehouse experience
  • 3+ years' experience
  • ETL/ELT experience
  • SQL Expert
  • Python experience
  • Comfortable in a CLI

Bonus (great to have but not required):

  • Looker experience
  • AWS experience
  • Snowflake experience
  • R or other statistical language
  • B2C experience

Our behavioral analytics / machine-learning platform is the leader in providing Fraud Detection and AML solutions. You will extend, develop, implement new algorithms and underlying mathematical theory, and use your analytics skills to help design and implement core components of our algorithms and models. You can have a daily, direct impact on the continued evolution of our innovative products. The position is based in Mountain View and reports to the Senior Director of Product Development. Job Description * MS/BS in Computer Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Physics, Electrical Engineering or other quantitative fields with focus on machine learning, mathematical algorithms, probability, and statistical modeling * 5+ years of experience in software engineering and algorithm development/statistical analysis * You'll write production-level machine learning models to detect fraud in financial data * You will make infrastructural choices in order to ensure that the models have excellent performance in real time and scale well with large datasets * Ability to balance theory with pragmatic problem-solving skills to develop and apply advanced algorithms to real world problems and data * Hands on experience with statistical analysis, visualization, and data mining tools such as Python and R * Proficient with Python, writing SQL queries and working with databases (MySQL preferred) * Familiarity with AWS, Azure and/or Google Cloud AI/ML Platforms * Ability to work with product managers to translate requirements into design and implementation code for both fraud detection, anti-money laundering and data visualization * Passionate about being at the forefront of Fraud detection, Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and cyber-crime in general * Resourceful, flexible, and adaptable team player Additional Preferred Qualifications: * Familiarity with Java/Spark/Tensorflow/Hadoop * Experience in developing User Behavior Models * Past experience in Natural Language Processing (NLP) * Understanding of Bayesian Statistics * Knowledge of Social Network Analysis Nice Systems Mountain View CA
