Job DescriptionThis is a great opportunity to work as a Data Architect in a dynamic data and analytics team responsible for determining the global Sage Data strategy and driving adoption of, and insight into, Sage's centralised data assets including big data sets such as Product telemetry, customer sentiment and click-data and uniting this with master customer and product data. This role will expose the Data Architect to leading edge technologies and infrastructure with the opportunity to establish skills in big data, data science and new analytical methodologies

The Data Architect will:

Be part of a team designing strategic data and integration platforms and interfaces to support the delivery of strategic data services across Global Products, Marketing, Sales, Finance, Customer Business Centres, HR and IT leadership amongst others.

Deliver solutions to liberate data from across the data ecosystem including internal data as well as social data and product telemetry, surface it in the right place and at the right time to personalise and optimise both our colleagues and customers' experience with Sage.

Deliver standard approaches to data build and data management across Sage, with a 'do it once' approach to reach our goal of a secure and managed single-version of the truth; ensuring data integrity and simplicity by mastering and modelling data centrally and rationalising data integrations between systems and consumers of data

Provide the tools and skills to enable our colleagues to perform deep-dive analytics into the data and surface previously unseen insights about our business and our customers' interactions with us Key ResponsibilitiesKey accountabilities and decision ownership:

Understand business requirements and strategy and translate into data and BI solutions and deliverables

Design data solutions aligned to our end goal of a single, central data platform where both Integrity and security can be guaranteed

Drive rationalisation and consolidation of data platforms according to the strategy and enforce simplification and standardisation of integrations

Define and govern policies and principles for data development and management, and review code and support practices in line with these

Be an evangelist for data and BI within Sage and ensure colleagues understand our data and its value to Sage

Must have:

  • Experience of designing global data architectures across a large, diverse enterprise.

  • Team player with commercial awareness and cognizance of changing internal and external IT landscapes.

  • Strong business acumen, with experience of managing stakeholders and influencing strategy by partnering and educating.

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate and present complex information concisely to both technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Analytical and critical thinking skills, prepared to challenge conventional thinking

Job Description Summary As a Data Architect on this program, you will use your expertise and experience in the following areas and activities to deliver solutions and services to our customer: The Data Architect will focus on data modeling and design of relational and noSQL databases to support our first party product redesign. The candidate will be building POC's in different technology and methodologies to assess best solution, designing ERD data models, noSQL solutions in the cloud. Job Duties * Review and understand high level requirements of the new product, and drive data requirements specifications. * Produce data models from scratch based on business requirements (relational, NoSQL). * Compare different tools and technology and determine where they fit in our organization. * Review and assess existing enterprise data-driven applications, to support new features, performance improvements, upgrades, and ongoing maintenance * Analyze large, complex systems to determine performance bottlenecks, application bugs, and opportunities to improve efficiency * Capture and analyze database activity to identify improvements in indexing, file structure, maintenance processes, and query performance * Plan and conduct database architecture assessments that examine DBMS and database configuration and performance * Identify areas of instability and deviations from best practices with database components * Participate in performance, load, and stress testing, and remediation of issues identified * Lead efforts to design, implement, and support enterprise scale applications that perform extract/transform/load (ETL) operations with external data sources and SQL Server * Participate in all aspects of the application lifecycle: requirements analysis & definition, system design, implementation, testing, deployment, and maintenance * Participate in activities that ensure the successful use of these systems including: developing documentation, test scripts, and training materials * Participate in security architecture reviews of large enterprise systems * Hands on development of stored procedures Qualifications Required skills: * MS/BS degree in a computer science field or related discipline is strongly preferred * Minimum seven years of SQL Server RDBMS designs, development, implementations and operations * Familiarity with non relational data stores like Mongo, and Hadoop * Strong experience development data models * Experience working with Database Performance tools and monitoring * Minimum five years of experience writing procedures and packages * Minimum five years of database development * Strong experience with designing and optimizing data processing platforms including performance monitoring, tuning, etc. * Experience creation data models (OLTP/ STAR Schema) * Proven track record showing the ability to influence, drive change and make sound decisions to support the business * Be a quick learner, self-starter with a strong sense of ownership to learn and promote new technologies or ways of doing CCC Information Services Inc.
