Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Data Architect with a strong focus on cybersecurity. As a Senior Data Architect, you will be responsible for designing secure and scalable architecture solutions to safeguard our organization's critical information assets. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that data-centric security measures align with business needs and compliance requirements. The ideal candidate will possess in-depth knowledge of cybersecurity principles, data management best practices and have a proven track record of successfully implementing a monitoring and logging strategy in both structured and unstructured data within a big data environment.

  • Defines, creates, and enhances data models for operational and reporting needs for specified domain.

  • Understands and collaborates with LOBs to map business processes to data models. · Leads creation, enhancement and maintenance of metadata and data lineage across the technology domain.

  • Ensures adherence to Enterprise data movement, quality, and accountability standards in technology.

  • Conducts data driven analyses of usage of detailed data elements across the business domain to provide optimal data provisioning patterns across the application space.

  • Responsible for independently conducting quantitative analytics.

  • Leads efforts in development of new models, analytic processes, or system approaches.

  • Creates documentation for all activities and may work with technology staff in design of any system to run models developed.

  • Incumbents possess excellent quantitative /analytic skills and can influence strategic direction, as well as develop tactical plans.

  • Improving and streamlining processes regarding data flow and data quality to improve data accuracy, viability, and value.

  • Challenges data and information integrity.

  • Works as a business partner that provides decision support to various LOB unit leaders.

  • Leads discussion in the ongoing development and operations of both operational data models and business intelligence architecture that enables fast real time access to data as well as fact-based decision making and ad hoc analysis and insight generation

  • Performing current state data architecture and tooling assessment across all data domains supported by control functions. Cross-domain reviews to identify synergies and opportunities to eliminate redundancy and duplication of data.

  • Establish capabilities framework for various data tools (metadata/lineage, data sourcing, data provisioning, data accessibility, data archival, data security, data quality etc.) and performing comparative analysis to recommend tools and establish standardized architecture and tooling strategy.

  • Developing high-level Data master plan and a roadmap to advance data architecture and tooling strategy.

  • Establishing data architecture & tooling best practices and participating in project architecture / design reviews to ensure consistency and standardization.

  • Establishing KPIs for the data architecture team and providing transparency through KPI measurement / reporting.

  • Evaluation of leading-edge data tools and integration into control functions architecture & tooling strategy & roadmap.

  • Ensuring application data architecture & tooling adherence with overall strategy via deep domain and technology expertise and ongoing interaction with architecture, development, business solutions and change management partners.

Required Skills:

  • Expertise in relational and dimensional data modeling as well as metadata build and management.

  • Extensive experience with SAP PowerDesigner, Erwin and/or Sparx

  • 8+ years of experience as a data architect in a complex data environment

  • Hands on expertise in relational and NOSQL database systems. Strong SQL and Python skills a must.

  • Thorough understanding of real time, batch, and event-based data provisioning.

  • Needs to be a skilled communicator with tools like Visio, PowerPoint and be able to quickly put together and present ideas to large groups clearly and effectively.

  • Strong domain knowledge of the data domains supported by control functions (Finance, Regulatory Reporting, Compliance, Operational Risk, HR, Legal, Marketing, Audit etc.) and experience in financial services industry

  • Experience with architecture and design of large-scale shared data solutions with multiple stakeholders

  • Hands-on design and implementation experience with one/more of the following data tools:

  • Data Analysis / Profiling

  • Python (Jupyterlab, PyCharm, etc.), Toad, MySQL
  • Data Platforms
  • Hadoop, Spark, Oracle, Exadata, SQL Server, DB2, MongoDB, Teradata, etc.
  • Data Transformation
  • Informatica, SSIS, Alteryx, Trifacta etc.
  • BI - Tableau, MicroStrategy, metadata/lineage tools, Distributed Caching tools

  • Strong knowledge of database modeling principles, techniques, and enterprise data management best practices.

  • Familiar with Data Governance process (Identifying critical data elements, metadata, data lineage, data dictionary, data model, Data Sharing Agreement, Service Level Agreement, Data Management Standards)

  • Participates in design, development review and implementation of architectural deliverables, to include components of the assessment and optimization of system design and review of user requirements

  • Experience in performance tuning of a multi-terabyte data warehouse production environment

  • Experience with Data Quality measurement/Scorecards, Control, & Remediation along with Data reconciliation technics

  • Able to independently architect data solutions, lead code reviews and ensure quality throughout the life of each project

  • Experience working as part of an Agile team and using Agile SDLC tools (Jira, etc.)

  • Demonstrate strong leadership, communication, analytical and organizational skills, and Strong presentation Skills. Ability to effectively manage day-to-day interactions and relationships with a diverse group of stakeholders

  • Hands on experience in ETL and API based data provisioning patterns.

Desired Skills:

  • Experience working with large amounts of data, conducting analysis, and presenting findings.

  • Knowledgeable in Audit and regulatory concerns.

  • Experience with next generation tools and technologies is a plus (AI/ML, RPA etc.)

  • Model Risk Management regulatory compliance, standards, and best practices in model development.

  • A bachelor's and/or master's degree in computer science or related field

Enterprise Overview:

This job is responsible for the execution of data architectural solutions for complex initiatives that span multiple Lines of Business and control functions. Key responsibilities include facilitating solution driven discussions, working with stakeholders to support adherence to the enterprise data management policy and standards, and supporting architecture design reviews to ensure integration of data architecture principles in technology solutions. Job expectations include educating data management teams on enterprise data architectural principles and data management processes and routines.
