Senior Data & Analytics Engineer - Remote

The Senior Data and Analytics Engineer will be a technical individual contributor position within the Engineering Center of Excellence (ECoE). The Senior Data and Analytics Engineer will have a strong background in data analytics and visualizations, with expertise in complex Power BI features, as well as report and dashboard development. Additionally, the Senior Data and Analytics Engineer will provide technical knowledge and skills to help grow the team, processes, and technologies in the department.

The Senior Data and Analytics Engineer will work closely with stakeholders to translate business needs into technical specifications, ensuring the delivery of high-quality data visualization and analytical solutions. The candidate must have strong working experience in business intelligence or data analytics, preferably in a fast-paced environment and complex business setting. This role requires demonstrated experience in building and maintaining Power BI data models, dashboards, and reports.

Salary Range: $94,400 - $142,900 We offer a competitive total rewards package at the Center for Internet Security: Base salary is determined on a number of factors including, but not limited to, education, experience and skills Health (PPO, EPO, HSA), Dental & Vision Insurance eligibility starting from the first day of hire $500 wellness card for Health Coverage Participants 401(k) with 4% Company Match, vested from the first day of hire Flexible Spending Account (FSA) & Dependent Care Account (DCA) Life Insurance Bonding Leave Paid Volunteering Program Bonus eligibility Paid Time Off (PTO) inclusive of vacation, personal and sick time Paid Holidays Wellness Program Employee Engagement Activities Professional Development Opportunities Tuition Reimbursement Student Loan PayDown Program Employee Referral program Employee Assistance Program What Youll Do Design, develop and optimize Power BI solutions with a focus on usability, performance, flexibility, testability, and standardization Translate high level business requirements into technical specifications and implement robust, scalable solutions Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate Power BI reports into business processes Conduct data analysis and validation to ensure accuracy and integrity in PowerBI reports Maintain and support existing Power BI solutions, implementing enhancements and modifications as needed Provide training and support to non-technical users on Power BI usage and best practices Implement security protocols for Power BI reports Stay current with the latest developments and features in Power BI and related technologies Assist and support the design, development, and implementation of data warehousing, reporting, and analytics solutions Identify opportunities to add value to the company’s data landscape by effective use of information management Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements: automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, re-designing analytics for greater usability, etc. Build analytics tools that utilize the data pipeline to provide actionable insights into member cyber events, member data, and other key business performance metrics Other tasks and responsibilities as assigned What Youll Need Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field 5 years’ experience working with Power BI including DAX, Dataflows, PowerQuery, and paginated reports 1 years demonstrated experience collaborating with and successfully training other colleagues Working SQL knowledge and experience working with relational databases Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively Ability to translate complex data into actionable insights Experience building processes supporting data ingestion, transformation, and presentation Experience in dimensional data modeling and schema design Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development environment Strong organizational skills including attention to detail Solid gathering, business analysis, and documentation capabilities The position is open to U.S. citizens and requires a favorably adjudicated DHS Fitness Review for Public Trust Positions Its a Plus if You Have:

Familiarity with data warehousing and ETL processes Experience with Azure Data Services (Azure SQL Database, Azure Data Factory, etc.) Knowledge of advanced analytics and machine learning within Power BI Additional years of relevant experience or a combination of an Associate’s degree or equivalent and relevant experience may be substituted for the Bachelor’s degree.
