Senior Data Analyst

MongoDB is looking for a Senior Data Analyst to join the Data Analytics team. This role will be responsible for performing data-driven business analyses, developing automated KPI dashboards, and creating reports to monitor business and product performance. To enable success, you will have access to massive structured and unstructured datasets along with a sophisticated data analytics platform to perform historical and real-time insight generation. The Senior Analyst will spend roughly half of their time working directly with the post-sales support organization to drive proactive decision making and the other half working more generally on the Analytics team to support MongoDB's products, services, and go-to-market operations.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a thought-partner with the support organization, helping to surface key insights out of vast amounts of data

  • Define and present key performance indicators that allow the business to better understand trends, growth, and opportunities

  • Partner with internal teams to create thoughtful dashboards and ad-hoc analyses aimed at improving their operations and performance

  • Develop actionable insights from a wide expanse of customer and product data to make recommendations on key business strategies

  • Create, maintain, and support Tableau dashboards for over a hundred users across the company

  • Willingness to define and communicate data sourcing methodology that promotes model confidence and strengthens calls-to-action

  • Effectively communicate analytical findings to non-technical audiences

Skills & Attributes

  • 3-5 years of data analysis experience; software industry experience preferred but not required

  • Ability to query, transform and analyze raw data, draw conclusions, and develop actionable recommendations

  • Experience creating impactful visualizations using Tableau Desktop and Tableau Server

  • Confidence using SQL for fetching and manipulating data

  • Strong proficiency with Excel

  • Experience with Salesforce and knowledge of schema and objects highly desired

  • Experience with a scripting language such as Python highly desirable

  • Strong communications skills; able to effectively interact with stakeholders at all levels of the organization

  • Highly organized with a keen attention to detail

  • Ability to take ownership of open-ended problems and drive them to completion

Success Measures

  • Within 3 months, become familiar with the analytical tools and data we use and have the initial framework built out for the support org recurring reporting needs

  • Within 6 months, work with business partners to develop more complex analyses around customer support trends, and present insights that inform future initiatives

  • Within your first year, become a trusted partner with key business stakeholders, the subject-matter expert on support data, and continue to produce analyses that inform decisions made in the support organization
