Our Opening and Your Responsibilities
Mettler-Toledo Rainin, LLC is seeking a Senior Data Analyst for its Oakland, CA location.
The Senior Data Analyst is one of the core members of Mettler-Toledo Liquid Handling Business Analytics Group, will act as a data process and analytics expert, and is accountable for the design and effective datasolution and processes.
He/she will act as key contact person for business stakeholders to build the next generation reporting and visualization tools, and data models that facilitate our company to gain new insights and make financial and commercial business decisions.
This position has a direct impact on the overall ability to achieve high quality data processing and analytics within METTLER TOLEDO.
Become an expert on all aspects of Rainin's data reporting and analytics infrastructure (SAP ECC, SAP BI, Vendavo, GPSS etc.);
Support Finance team, product managers and other data-driven internal stakeholders to identify opportunities and/or improve existing data access and processes;
Conduct insightful analysis using internal and external data (e.g. Revenue, customer, pricing, product/service, marketing campaign, manufacturing) to gain insights that will drive financial and commercial business decisions;
Develop dashboards and visualizations for the business stakeholders and maintain the integrity of the reports;
Develop reasonable forecasting models based on trends/patterns;
Ad hoc reporting and analysis, as required;
Act as an expert on all aspects of Biotix' data processes, reporting and analytics infrastructure and be liaison with IT team to troubleshoot and validate data issue;
Design recurring reports based on Biotix business requirement, set up and maintain data transformation process using programming scripts for optimal data processing time;
Perform training and provide training materials for new functionalities and/or data software;
Act as a statistical consultant to R&D and Marketing teams. Support experimental design and data validation to ensure of robust and trustable results on statistical analyses; and
Show strong ownership of data projects and prioritize data analyses to support Biotix cross-functional business areas.
What You Need to Succeed
Must have a Bachelor's degree in Math, Statistics, Computer Science, or related field and 3 years of related experience or a Master's degree in Math, Statistics, Computer Science, or related field and 1 year of related experience. Required experience must include 3 years (or 1 with a Master's degree) in the following specific skills:
Strong independent data analysis experience.
R or Python programming.
SQL or other query languages, experience to develop complex queries.
Working with large data sets that are structured and partially structured.
Data systems (SAP ECC, SAP CRM), data visualization tools (Tableau, SAP SAC), and data analytics software (KNIME, Minitab).
Financial reporting systems/platform (Hyperion, Vendavo).
Microsoft Business Intelligent - Analysis for Office, Excel, Access PowerPoint, Mekko Chart.
Data modeling, especially in financial forecasting (trend and seasonality patterns).
Medical device domain knowledge, ISO quality standards (ISO 23783-1:2022) for Automated liquid handing systems.
Hybrid position. May work from home 2-3 days per week.
Must live within normal commuting distance of worksite.
