VIEW JOBS 10/19/2021 12:00:00 AM 2022-01-17T00:00
For those that are truly in the data analytics space, the title of Data Scientist may be not exactly right for the role at hand. What we are really looking for is someone to come in and be the link between the data we have at our fingertips and our executive leadership team that is looking for ways to make our business better, faster, and stronger. If you can do that, we'll call you whatever you want.

Encore is the best fire protection company the industry has ever seen because we give our customers a unique experience at every interaction. One of the ways we do that is by tapping into our data in ways that other companies don't think of to make educated decisions. We aren't afraid to take risks and we aren't afraid to do things differently because every decision we make is based on the facts our data is telling us.

The number one requirement for this role is the ability "speak" in both IT and business. The inability to understand what we do, how we do it, and why we are doing it that way will be prohibitive to your success.

Requirements

We aren't fluent in IT, so rather than listing a bunch of technology-based skill requirements, we'll outline the key objectives for the role and expect you to explain the specific tactics you would employ to achieve them:

Combine data from a variety of sources into a single data-warehouse with a mechanism that enables end users at every level of our business, even those that do not come from a data-mining or analysis background, to directly query, generate custom reports and draw insightful conclusions unassisted

Assume responsibility for making sure our data is correctly stored, protected, cleaned, transformed, and aggregated to meet business requirements

Based on the knowledge of our business you will develop, make recommendations for ways we can facilitate collaboration between business departments, provide self-service analytics, and further perpetuate our data-driven culture.

Must be local to Connecticut - this is NOT a remote position

You will be in direct communication with Executive Leadership as well as Senior Level Managers. Out of the gates, you will receive questions on operating metrics from the highest level with expectations to deliver answers in the form of comprehensive reports. To feel confident in this role you will probably need a college degree in programming, statistics, mathematics, or similar and at least 1-2 years professional work experience.

Benefits

As a company, Encore is hyper-focused on developing a culture that thrives on success and is energized by the fact that we get to make peoples' lives better and safer each day. One of the ways we do this is by generously rewarding all those who contribute to our continued growth. But we also believe that not all rewards are monetary. Here are just a few a few perks that a successful individual in this role can expect:

Salary commensurate with experience with opportunity for a results-driven bonus based on personal output and effectiveness in role

Purpose and results driven work environment (work smarter not harder)

We dress for the objective which means most days we wear jeans but occasionally we wear suits. As long as you know which situations require which (or aren't afraid to ask), you'll be all set!

Speaking of attire, we offer all employees Encore gear twice a year

Snacks and coffee everyday and weekly "to-order" office lunches and breakfast

Freedom to express ideas - a culture of willingness to test, try, modify, adopt, enhance, improve and CHANGE as needed

Access to leading edge web-based productivity tools

Participation in Fidelity 401(K) that includes employer match

Medical, Dental, and Vision benefits through Blue Cross

Company-paid life insurance policy of $25,000

Encore Fire Protection is an Equal Opportunity Employer.

Encore Fire Protection is an E-Verify Employer

As an EEO/AA employer, Encore Fire Protection considers applicants for employment without regard to, and does not discriminate on the basis of, gender, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, age, race, protected veteran status, disability, or any other legally protected status
Encore Fire Protection Middletown CT
