IMPAQ is seeking a self-motivated Business Intelligence (BI) Specialist to join our exceptional team of experts who work to improve the health and well-being of millions of people. The BI Specialist will be a member of IMPAQ Health and support health-focused projects with a focus on supporting Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) and National Institutes of Health (NIH) projects related to COVID-19, social determinants of health, health equity, and government funded programs affecting vulnerable populations.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong problem-solving skills and experience in the design and support of BI reporting through off-the-shelf data visualization solutions (Power BI and potentially Tableau), and data warehouse environments.
This role will work across teams and help gather, document, and select business and database requirements for an interactive user interface that allows ad hoc data analysis and exporting. The BI specialist should have knowledge of data structure design for flexible BI solutions, including implementation of data visualizations. In addition to possessing solid fundamental research skills, this position requires the ability to work with customers, users, and other contractors to develop interactive dashboards and other graphical representations of data to further research and policy decisions.

Gather, document, and select business and database requirements for dashboard user interfaces
Provide requirements and documentation for the construction, cleaning, merging, and manipulation of datasets for both internal and project-related use
Provide data warehouse and cloud computing requirements for hosting a BI user interface (e.g. for Azure, AWS, etc.)
Design and develop data visualizations, including static charts for reports and dynamic dashboards
Conduct user research and usability testing and collaborate with the human centered design efforts
Write, compile, and edit assigned portions of project reports
Develop quality assurance protocols for BI solution
Review work products to ensure quality and consistency of content
Education, Knowledge, and Experience
BA/BS or Master's Degree in Information Systems, Data Science, Statistics, Public Policy, Computer Science, or related field; or equivalent years of experience
2+ years of experience implementing enterprise-scale reporting systems using PowerBI
Hands-on experience using Power BI
Knowledge of data analysis and data management techniques
Experience managing data using Azure cloud computing services
Experience with developing requirements for data warehouse implementations
Experience in graphic design
Data manipulation experience using Python, SQL, or other similar tools
Experience managing data using AWS cloud computing services
BI, data visualization, and design methodology
User interface design
Qualitative and quantitative research methods
Strong organizational, planning, oral, and written communication skills
Ability to take initiative, learn quickly, work independently and in a team environment
Creative, professional, and strong attention to detail
Exposure to project management and technical assistance
