About the Role

The Customer Tax Transparency (CTT) competency is responsible for delivering business capability to enable ANZ to comply with its tax /compliance reporting obligations under Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act (FATCA), the Common Reporting Standard (CRS) and other similar regimes.

Role Summary:

As part of CTT, the Data Analyst (DA) works with program stakeholders to analyse and synthesise information, understand the organisational context and Delivery business insights through Data and analytical trends. Working within the stakeholder engagement framework for the program, the Data Analyst is to communicate data trends and business values to key stakeholders to ensure a clear understanding of the program's objectives and benefits.

The role requires strong stakeholder engagement and management skills to ensure a clear understanding of the program's objectives, benefits and deliverables.

The role requires delivery of business insights through to support ANZ's business strategies and manage and mitigate legal and compliance risks. Experience in FATCA, CRS, Anti-Money Laundering/Know your Customer (AML/KYC) or Compliance related projects will be highly regarded.

Role Location: Manyata Tech Park, Bengaluru

What will your day look like

  • Work with CTT and initiative stakeholders to analyse and synthesise information, understand the organisational context and Delivery business insights through Data and analytical trends

  • Manage and lead the data analysis activities and provide input and guidance for the development of the project business case

  • Ensure that assigned analysis activities are conducted within agreed timeframes in a collaborative manner

  • Ensure awareness and compliance of all applicable policies and procedures relating to risk and compliance

  • Support the analysis of program risks, defects and issues through empirical evidence

  • Conduct root cause analysis and demonstrate ability to provide key insights to drive fact-based decisions whilst being able to communicate decisions effectively

  • Collaborate and network with other business units and data/information suppliers on system related information, including the Technology units

  • Lead and mentor squad members to have shared accountability, liaise with other teams to ensure dependencies between teams are understood and managed, and identify and remove blockers

  • Build and maintain strong and effective relationships with colleagues, managers and stakeholders

  • Foster collaboration across teams and business units

  • Work with peers to improve, develop and promote the Data Analysis profession

  • Mentor more junior DAs, able to review and correct other DA's documentation, able to create professional PowerPoint presentations and present complex topics to senior stakeholders

  • Continue building a good team culture with open friendly communication and collaboration aligned to ANZ values

What will you bring?

  • 7+ years Data Analysis experience, preferably with experience in Data Analysis in an Operational and Project functions

  • Strong hands-on knowledge and experience with tools and techniques for data analysis (e.g., SQL, Python, PowerBI, etc.) and data processing tools, analysis, presentation and application

  • Extensive Data Analysis experience and/or related experience

  • Strong Analytical skills - ability to turn data and information into business insights, simplifying large amounts of varied and complex information

  • Strong ability to document findings and recommend positions to move forward

  • Strong ability to navigate through difficult problems and work autonomously on tasks with a reasonable complexity.

  • Strong collaboration and negotiation skills to foster desired business outcome

  • Strong communication and presentation skills including senior stakeholder level, risk committees and governance forums

  • Ability to work and lead in a dynamic, agile and sometimes ambiguous environment

  • Ability to identify continuous improvement opportunities and propose solutions to simplify and automate existing processes

  • Demonstrated ability to work under pressure, without sacrificing quality whiles working at speed

  • Strong knowledge on CRS and FATCA tax compliance obligations

  • Hands on knowledge in Qliksense data visualization and analysis tool

  • Clear understanding of project management lifecycles, disciplines and procedures.

  • Some domain knowledge of impacted business units.

  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in working on mid to large sized projects
