The Senior Data Analyst, Analytics, Reporting, and Insights (ARI) is responsible for identifying, querying, analyzing, and presenting through reports and presentations, a variety of data to support quality and performance measurement initiatives throughout Brigham and Women's Faulkner Hospital.

This position will require leading weekly on-site operations metrics meetings with senior leadership at Brigham and Women's Faulkner Hospital.

This role reports into the Analytics, Reporting and Insights team but has a matrixed reporting structure to the VP of Finance at Brigham and Women's Faulkner Hospital.

This will require close collaboration with staff within the clinical departments, and many other analytic, quality, financial, and business planning groups throughout the hospital. Data and reporting support could encompass areas such as patient satisfaction survey programs, quality and patient safety reporting, clinical outcome performance tracking, asset utilization and measurement support, finance, business development, and others.

The successful Senior Data Analyst will analyze and organize complex qualitative and quantitative clinical, financial and administrative data from multiple data sources, and synthesize results into meaningful reports and presentations on a regular basis, leveraging Tableau tools, SQL querying and Excel analysis. Candidates should be familiar with and comfortable to learn additional reporting tools such as Epic reporting tools, R, SAS, and Python.

They will leverage their skills working with large data sets, distilling data down into digestible information, for consumption by hospital senior leadership and staff across the organization. They will manage data analysis and dashboard projects, providing status updates to Brigham and Women's Faulkner hospital leadership. They will serve as a resource and role model for other ARI data analysts, and train other analysts and end-users on core analytic and reporting capabilities.

*This role requires days on site at both, Brigham and Women's main campus and also Brigham and Women's Faulkner campus. Principle Duties and Responsibilities 1.

Elicits data and reporting requirements from hospital leadership, clinicians, and other staff, using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, site visits, use cases, scenarios, data analysis, task, and workflow analysis.\ 2. Determines appropriate tools to meet the end user's data and reporting needs, inclusive of Brigham Health's Epic reporting tools such as Radar, Reporting Workbench, Clarity and Caboodle, as well as adhoc data analysis through querying the Brigham Health data warehouse and delivering via Excel or PowerPoint, or developing Tableau dashboards for historical, analytical reporting. 3. Performs data analysis against hospital systems such as our electronic medical record system (Epic), enterprise data warehouse (EDW), SAS data sets, MS Access databases, external websites, and Tableau in order to glean meaningful insights and produce actionable reports for internal customers. 4.

The senior analyst will present data and analyses weekly to key stakeholder groups, including creating materials for and giving presentations as needed. 5. Works with ARI staff in design, maintenance, and distribution of reports while also overseeing ad hoc data analyses and new report development as needed. 6. Works with Analytics, Reporting, and Insights team to support, maintain and further develop our analytical capabilities with SAS, Tableau, and other analytic platforms, which includes but not limited to dashboard and report development, QA of existing reports, and documentation of system functionality. 7.

Performs comprehensive quality assurance, ensuring that databases and reports meet end user specifications and data are accurate and reliable. 8. Works with new and existing ARI analysts to share knowledge in methods of data analysis, summarization and presentation. Trains other analysts and end-users on key analytic and reporting systems and databases. 9.

Perform data cleansing and data entry tasks as necessary to support data analysis and reporting. 10. Represents ARI on internal and external committees or task forces as needed. 11. Performs all other related duties as required.

Skills and Abilities
1.Strong proficiency with Excel, manipulating large data sets and synthesizing into digestible information.
2.Experience with querying relational databases as well building dashboards and reports using business intelligence tools such as Tableau (preferred), MicroStrategy, SAP Business Objects, Cognos, etc..
3.Strong ability to work effectively with senior level management, and staff at all levels within an organization.
4.Experience with data manipulation, cleansing, and statistical analysis using tools such as SAS, R, Python, Power BI, and other tools.
5.Ability to clearly communicate complex and sensitive data to senior executives as well as peers.
6.Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor message to individuals and audiences throughout the institution.
7.Strong organizational skills, with the ability to focus detailed concentrated effort to multiple projects and re-establish priorities as necessary.
8.Possesses initiative and ability to work independently while thriving in a setting requiring collaboration and teamwork for maximal efficiency and effectiveness.
9.Attention to detail that ensures follow through on all initiatives implemented, and all projects undertaken.
10. Ability to effectively respond to time sensitive issues and meet deadlines.

Qualifications
1.Bachelor's degree in management, information systems, statistics, or equivalent experience.
2.At least 3-5 years of experience, preferably in a related analytics position.
3.Working knowledge of SQL and Business Intelligence tools such as Tableau, Business Objects, SAS BI, or others preferred.
4.Knowledge and application of statistical analyses including financial variance analysis and statistical significance preferred.
5.Knowledge of electronic medical record system data, Epic preferred.
6.Project management skills and/or experience required.
7.MS Access and/or SQL Server database experience a plus.

VIEW JOBS 11/19/2019 12:00:00 AM 2020-02-17T00:00 GENERAL SUMMARY/ OVERVIEW STATEMENT: The Partners HealthCare Biobank is a large research program designed to help researchers understand how people's health is affected by their genes, lifestyle, and environment. The Department of Radiation Oncology is teaming with the Partners Biobank to conduct a study called BROADBAND, the Brigham and Women's Hospital Radiation Oncology All-Department Biorepository to Accelerate New Discoveries. Patients are simultaneously enrolled to the Partners Biobank and BROADBAND to collect information and patient samples relevant to radiation oncology. Data Coordinators work independently and in a team and report to the project manager as needed or in regularly scheduled meetings. Data Coordinators recruit and perform phlebotomy on patients who are being seen at the Department of Radiation Oncology. Data Coordinators are responsible for doing patient education, obtaining consent, performing phlebotomy, and entering and maintaining patient and survey data. Data Coordinators work with multiple investigators and physicians on the Partners Biobank and collaborating studies. Principal duties may vary over time with grant funding and project demands, and with skill level of other staff assigned to projects. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Coordinates the implementation, both internally and externally, of the BROADBAND project at BWH. 2. Initiates and maintains recruitment contact with potential study participants using specialized software. 3. Works in concert with Principal Investigator and/or Research Manager, develops and implements patient recruitment strategies. 4. Responsible for managing and recruiting patients in Radiation Oncology. Assists with responding to patient inquiries about BROADBAND, and assists with consent to DFCI Profile for patients who have not yet consented to it. 5. Conducts phlebotomy (blood draws) on research subjects. 6. Assists with the development, organization, and/or maintaining the study database. Responsible for data validation and quality control. 7. Coordinates with Consent Tracking to ensure proper subject identification, oversee collection of discarded samples, and recommend system improvements. 8. Recommends changes to research protocols. 9. Assists with the production of patient and/or physician education material, research newsletters, development of web content and online project communication. 10. Assists with clinic expansion at new sites. 11. All other duties as assigned. Qualifications: 1. B.A./B.S. in related field 2. Research experience working with data collected from questionnaires and patients preferred but not required. Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills. 3. Must have have strong organizational skills, database management and computer skills. 4. Must posess a great deal of integrity to maintain confidentiality. 5. Phlebotomy certification preferred but not required. 6. Spanish fluency preferred but not required. SKILLS/ ABILITIES/ COMPETENCIES REQUIRED: * Must have interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients from varied backgrounds, MDs, researchers and other team members. * Must have strong analytical and problem solving skills. * Must be able to prioritize and organize work responsibilities in order to meet deadlines. * Must possess integrity to maintain confidentiality. * Must demonstrate accuracy in recording data. * Must possess strong database management and overall computer skills. * Must be able to make independent judgments for the above mentioned job duties and responsibilities. * Technical skills such as limited database design, data manipulation, and database implementation are a plus.
