About Cybersecurity, Intelligence and Services

The Cybersecurity, Intelligence and Services (CIS) business provides technically advanced full-spectrum cyber, data operations, systems integration and intelligence mission support services to meet our customers' most demanding challenges. Our capabilities include cyber space operations, cyber defense and resiliency, vulnerability research, ubiquitous technical surveillance, data intelligence, lifecycle mission enablement, and software modernization. CIS brings disruptive technologies, agility, and competitive offerings to customers in the intelligence community, defense, civil, and commercial markets

CODEX is seeking a cyber test engineer capable of supporting multiple system-level software projects in a variety of environments. This person will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, consistency and quality of our products and reporting any deficiencies, limitations, or risks. Many of our projects are undertaken by small teams in close coordination with customers and follow Agile/SCRUM methodologies. Therefore, testing is a continuous process that often occurs in parallel with development. Test engineers must be able to quickly learn new technologies to support their projects. Competitive candidates have strong attention to detail, enjoy finding bugs, and are mission focused.

Required Qualifications:

  • 5 years test engineering experience

  • Excellent communication, collaboration, analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to interface with customers, end-users, technical leads, and program management throughout the full software development lifecycle

  • Experience with Linux and testing applications with no graphical user interface

  • Knowledge of professional software engineering practices for the full software development lifecycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations

  • Experience designing, writing, reviewing, and executing test plans, procedures, reports, and other technical documentation

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience in Systems Engineering or requirements analysis and management

  • Familiarity with Agile mindset and methodologies

  • Ability to think abstractly and drive toward defined requirements and testing strategies

  • Proficiency (1+ year) in scripting languages such as Python or bash

  • Experience using virtualization technologies such as Docker

  • Basic knowledge of TCP/IP networking, architecture, and core technologies (such as DNS, DHCP, HTTP, Routing, VPN)

  • Familiarity with Continuous Integration and Delivery of Software Applications

Employee Referral Award Eligibility: This requisition is eligible for an employee referral award. ALL eligibility requirements must be met to receive the referral award.

The salary range for this role is 77,000 USD - 163,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
