Position Purpose: Resolve customer inquiries via telephone and written correspondence in a timely and appropriate manner.

Using current reference materials, answer inquiries from members and/or providers regarding claims, eligibility, covered benefits, authorizations and pharmacy related matters

Provide assistance to members and/or providers regarding website registration and navigation

Educate members and/or providers on health plan initiatives during telephone conversations

Provide first call resolution; working with appropriate internal/external resources, completing necessary follow-up, and ensuring closure of the inquiry

Document all activities for quality and metrics reporting through the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) application

Identify trends related to member and/or provider inquiries to respond proactively and provide feedback to management

Process and follow through on all matters related to Provider Addition, Change and Termination (PACT) forms, Customer Service Forms (CSFs), and claims projects in a timely manner. Conduct appropriate auditing processes

Process forms required to release pending claims to providers

Work with other departments on cross functional tasks and projects

Maintain performance and quality standards based on established call center metrics including turn-around times

Education/Experience: High school diploma or equivalent. 3 years of combined call center and customer service experience preferably in a healthcare or insurance environment. 1 years of managed care experience preferred.

Associate's degree and claims processing, billing and/or coding experience preferred. Depending on the state, bi-lingual skills may also be preferred.

The Senior CSR Responds to both standard and more difficult customer inquiries regarding products and services the Company offers. Answers, documents and monitors call center calls, emails and transactions. Researches to respond to customer inquiries, and responds formally to correspondence, either verbally or in writing, utilizing all reference material necessary to provide an informed response to the customer. Requests additional/missing information from the customer via letter or telephone call to answer customer inquiries. Documents client issues and escalates issues to appropriate parties to resolve. Provides written and verbal feedback to colleagues in a professional manner. Responsibilities: * Present Dovetail in a positive manner, while building customer/agent rapport. * Handle high volume of incoming calls from customers, agents, and carriers. * Solicit all information necessary to help agent's process quotes and bind policies. * Develop strong customer service and system skills. * Build knowledge of guidelines and increase product knowledge. * Provide post issuance support for a wide variety of business insurance products and services at a high level of excellence. * Identify forward-thinking solutions that resolve both stated and un-stated needs, making it easier to do business with Dovetail. * Maintain policy records and administrative assistance. * Maintain working knowledge of all Dovetail products, systems and processes. * Maintain positive communication with current customers on a daily basis via telephone, email and other modes of communication as appropriate. * Maintain a high level of performance measured by traditional and contemporary call center performance indicators and behaviors. * Demonstrate strong active listening skills to identify customer problems or objections. * Handle objections professionally while clearly articulating relevant product and corporate features, benefits, and add value to the consumer based on developing working product knowledge. * Achieve and maintain the minimum required quality and phone metrics while consistently striving to improve. * Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications: * High School Diploma * 1-2 years of Customer Service experience in a Call Center field with prior customer interaction experience (required). * 1-2 years Commercial Lines Insurance background (required). * Excellent communication skills including effective communication with customers while using computer systems to research and process information over the phone. * Strong typing skills. * Strong team work. * Ability to confidently handle customer requests and have a strong attention to detail, exceptional problem solving and critical thinking skills. * Working knowledge of MS systems, i.e., MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, Outlook and MS Word. * Good technical, analytical, and presentation skills. * Spanish-English bilingual a plus, but not required. * Job Specific & Technical Skills & Competencies: * Successful attainment of State (SC) Insurance Property & Casualty License within 30 days of start date * Ability to multi-task within a high volume service center environment. * Ability to make wise decisions quickly and efficiently in a fast paced environment. * Adaptability to change. * Strong math and problem solving skills. * Decisive judgment, resiliency and integrity. * Positive and professional demeanor. Environmental/Work Schedules/Other: * Ability to work flexible hours. * Hours of Operation are 8:00am-9:00pm; Monday – Friday.
