Role: Senior Customer Quality Engineer
Location: San Jose, CA
Type: Full Time Direct Hire

Job Description:

The primary responsibilities will involve supporting strategic customers and automotive customers. Specific job responsibilities are listed below. Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.


Support customers with timely implementation of customer quality requirements, resolution of issues related to quality of products and services.

Support customers with PPAP documentation as required for product introduction and product change management.

Define and implement product quality planning and control process based on customers specifications and requirements

Respond to customer inquiries regarding product quality, reliability, environmental compliance, regulatory compliance, safety compliance, and quality agreements.

Support customer audits of Power Integrations contract manufacturers as needed.

Represent Power Integrations on quality and reliability related matters during customer visits. Prepare and present quality reports as required by customers.

Interface with contract manufacturers on compliance management of discrepant materials on a routine basis.

Drive corrective and preventive actions resulting from product and process non-conformity issues.


B.S. in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent technical discipline is required.

Five years of experience in customer quality engineering with at least 3 years in the semiconductor industry is required.

In addition, candidates must have several years of experience in the automotive industry.

Candidates with IATF-16949 compliant automotive quality experience and PPAP documentation will be highly preferred

ASQ certified of quality engineers and quality auditors will be given special consideration

Overseas travel may be required.

Essential Functions: * Partners with clinical quality service lines to identify issues within operations for focus improvement efforts. Supports workgroups or committees (e.g. peer review). * Prepares meeting materials including agendas and minutes; coordinates conference room logistics; monitors and follows up with action plans). * In collaboration with the clinical lead, coordinates on-going, multiple projects (e.g. supporting the clinical service line model). Develops timelines and agenda items. * Helps identify best methods and processes for performance improvement including developing project plans, facilitating group process, and training related to data collection/reporting. * Supports groups through the full rapid improvement cycle. Helps identify and recommend actions to correct activities and processes. * Analyzes, interprets information, and makes recommendations on data collection. Presents data in a graphical format to support leadership groups and committees' strategic planning and decision-making. Analyzes and compiles data into spreadsheets and databases. Helps identify and communicate alternative solutions to projects as needed. * Abstracts data using Health Connect; runs reports and communicates results of analysis effectively to key stakeholders. * Maintains and coordinates audits. Assists with developing audit methods to assess performance improvement and to ensure regulatory compliance. Based on audit results, creates and presents reports using various systems and databases (e.g. MIDAS focus studies). * Kaiser Permanente conducts compensation reviews of positions on a routine basis.
