DePuy Synthes Companies of Johnson & Johnson is recruiting for a Senior Customer Quality Engineer in Warsaw, Indiana.

This position will support the DePuy Synthes Joint Reconstruction business unit, which offers orthopedic devices and solutions for hip, knee, and shoulder arthroplasty products. The Senior Customer Quality Engineer will lead key projects to improve department capability; improve quality of complaint data and decision making, and achieve Quality System tracked objectives (NC, CAPA, IA), Proactively collaborate and resolve cross-functional issues with stakeholders, and Collaborate with cross-Global Orthopedics companies, MD, and JNJ to identify and implement best, harmonized practices within Customer Quality.

The Senior Customer Quality Engineer will write and approve investigation reports after performing various investigational tasks in accordance with company procedures and quality systems regulations; develop customer correspondence when requested; partner with appropriate functional departments to achieve effective corrective actions and document within the complaint handling system; represent department on post-market surveillance reviews and safety management evaluations; participate on cross-functional and cross-company project teams to help drive consistency and process improvements across the business; interface with key business partners including R&D, Operations, Post Market Surveillance, Quality, Regulatory and Compliance, to insure complete and thorough investigations; serve as subject matter expert for regulatory audits.

The Senior Customer Quality Engineer is responsible for analyzing incoming product complaints, prioritizing investigations based on the event description and risk level, determining appropriate investigation plans and requirements, and partnering cross-functionally to find solutions to customer-reported quality issues.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering required.

  • 6 Years Experience in an ISO regulated industry and/or GQP/GMP experience required.

  • 2 years away from a STEM related role.

  • An ability to work cross functionally and promote good working relationships.

  • The ability to work independently on routine tasks with high attention to detail is required.

  • The ability to demonstrate sound technical writing and business writing skills is required.

  • Medical/Pharmaceutical/Health Care Industry Experience is a plus.

  • Prior Experience with Root Cause Methodologies is preferred.

  • This role will be based in Warsaw, Indiana and may require up to 10% of domestic travel.

This role predominantlyperforms Post-Market Surveillance activities including trend analyses, signaldetection and investigations. You will execute the Post-Market Surveillanceprocess with a primary focus on signal assessment and detailed investigationsand reports of potential Safety Issues and Quality Trend Events. To succeed inthis role, you should excel in an environment that embraces teamwork, change,risk-based decision-making and flexibility. You will lead efforts in support ofthe business as it develops and implements product-specific safety surveillancestrategies in proactive and systematic detection and evaluation of potentialsafety signals and emerging trends from post-marketing safety surveillancedata. You will also prepare Post Market Surveillance Reports and Safety SignalReports for Leadership as well as prepare Post Market Surveillance data andanalysis for reviews with Sr Leaders and Health authorities. Depending upon thenature of the identified safety issue/product quality event, the Senior QualityEngineer will be the key interface with the Product Escalation group to ensureall events are escalated in a timely manner and per procedure. You will need tocommunicate effectively across all levels of the department within Quality aswell as cross functionally with departments such as Medical Safety, R&D,Regulatory, Manufacturing, and Marketing. This is a hands-on positionthat will require an ambitious individual with excellent analytical, writtenand verbal communication skills. You will have the opportunity to collaboratewith business partners at all levels with multiple functional groups in anenvironment that embraces teamwork and risk-based decision-making. Qualifications * A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in an Engineering,Technical/Scientific/Statistics discipline is required. * A secondary/graduate degree in a related field is anasset. * A minimum of 4 years of experience within a regulatedenvironment (e.g. FDA, GMP, ISO, etc.) is required. * Experience with Post Market Surveillance/SignalDetection (data trending) activities is preferred. * Programming experience with data science languagessuch as Python, R or Java along with advanced statistical programming arepreferred. * Experience in visualization tool such as Tableau, Qlikor equivalent is preferred. * Advanced knowledge and demonstrated use of MicrosoftExcel (macros, tables, look-ups, etc.) for data analysis/signal detection isrequired. * Experience working with large datasets is required. * The ability to work independently and partner with across-functional team is required. * Process Excellence/Lean experience is an asset. * ASQ certifications are an asset. * Experience conducting Process / Design Failure ModeEffects and Analysis is an asset. * Statistical techniques and methods are preferred. * Experience working with QSR, EU MDR, Design Controls, and ISOquality requirements is preferred. * Excellent negotiation, decision-making, andinterpersonal skills that foster conflict resolution as it relates to technicalsituations is desired. * This position will be based in Warsaw, IN, and willrequire up to 10% travel.
