In Customer Care, we are focused on delivering the desired customer experience for each of our customers. Everything we do starts with the customer and our information about the customer. Within Customer Care, PG&E's Customer Energy Solutions department (CES) is responsible for designing, implementing and administering customer demand side management programs, including energy efficiency; distributed generation, demand response, and rate programs that help PG&E customers in Northern and Central California manage the energy use of their homes and businesses. PG&E has been a national leader in energy efficiency since 1976 and continues to recruit and develop individuals to carry the CES Department's legacy of effective energy efficiency programs on into the future.
Within EE Programs, the EE Operations (EE Ops) team is a dynamic and critical organization which manages relationships with PG&E's commercial, industrial, and agricultural (CIA) customers, and certain external third-parties (such as energy consulting companies that focus on energy efficiency programs and services) EE Ops is focused on providing outstanding customer service to these customers and external parties by working with all departments within PG&E to ensure that their electric or gas issues are consistently and efficiently resolved.
This position will be responsible for providing technical support to the Business Energy Solutions (BES) organization for customer specific needs and to further the energy efficiency opportunities at customer facilities. This individual will be working with industrial customers to develop energy savings calculations, perform energy audit, and present reports to customers. Additionally, they will interact with PG&E Product Development and other PG&E departments, vendors, industry groups and others to deepen knowledge and understanding of technical solutions, options, practices and processes.
You must be able to travel at least 30 % of the time
Complete customer site visits by performing energy audits of facilities to identify opportunities for the customer to reduce electrical and gas consumption
Evaluate energy efficiency options for customer specific needs and determine the appropriate PG&E channel (rebates, CORE, 3 rd Party, Direct Install, etc.) to utilize
Provide technical calculations to estimate and confirm customer baselines, potential energy savings and address other impacts that could affect customer projects
Determine the appropriate calculation method to most effectively quantify potential energy savings based on; project complexity, business impact, and uncertainty of calculation inputs
Use technical knowledge and expertise to proactively identify future EE market opportunities
Build relationships with customers and facility contacts to assist in market transformation efforts, field perspective and identification of process or program gaps
Assist products and programs departments in the development of additional portfolio opportunities
Bachelor's in engineering or equivalent work experience
Professional Engineer (PE) license
4 years of engineering experience
Must possess a valid California driver's license or ability to obtain by first day of employment
General knowledge of end use technology in commercial, industrial and/or agricultural processes
Proficient in Microsoft Office: MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint
Strong focus on client and customer satisfaction
Written and verbal communication skills, and presentation skills
Master's degree in engineering
Engineering degree in mechanical or electrical engineering
DOE Qualified Specialists (ie: AIRMaster+, FSAT, PHAST, PSAT, or SSAT Qualified Specialists)
AEE Certification (ie: BEP, BESA, CBCF, CBCP, CDSM, CEA, CEM, CEP, CGD, CiEP, CLEP, CMVP, CPQ, CRM, CSDP, CWEP, DGCP, EBCP, EEP, GBE, PCF, REA, or REP)
Utility industry experience
Strong written and verbal communication skills and project management skills
Experience and proficiency in project management: manage multiple priorities and projects to completion such as energy efficiency projects
Experience with Measurement and Verification techniques
Familiarity with Salesforce CRM platform
Strong focus on safety
