Position Summary:

CertainTeed's Finance department is looking for a Senior Credit & Collections Analyst to join their team based out of their North American headquarters in Malvern, PA. The Senior Credit & Collections Analyst is heavily focused on the on-time review of open orders and adherence to collection strategies as set forth by FIS GETPaid Collection software system in support of a $1B portfolio of accounts receivable from 2,000 active customers across all CertainTeed (CT) business units. This role is also responsible for establishing customer relationships to ensure customer account reconciliations coincide with the customer's accounts payable system. This includes:

  • analyzing customer risk and setting credit limits up to $500K
  • sending statements and dunning notices
  • working with customers to obtain remittance advices
  • reconciling unapplied cash payments, deductions and credit memos
  • sending copies of invoices and credit memos to the customer

The Senior Credit & Collections Analyst will strategically partner with cash application, customer service and pricing teams heavily focused on deduction resolution, and will identify, implement and notify management of solutions when there is a change in payment patterns or any large or unexpected order(s) resulting in a credit hold. This role will encompass a wide range of tasks and responsibilities to support the financial services needs of all the CT businesses. The focus of the position is to provide superior service to both internal & external customers and drive profit maximization while minimizing working capital and losses. Additionally, this person will be expected to maximize business cash flow and profits while minimizing losses and bad debt exposure while supporting top-line growth and maintaining customer good will. This position reports to the Sr. Credit & Collections Manager but will also work closely with the Director of Credit.

Responsibilities:

  • Credit line reviews for small customers up to $500K according to policy.

  • On time review of pending orders in multiple ERP Systems. Alerting sales and customer service of any credit issues.

  • Must be willing to occasionally be on call during US Holidays to release Canadian orders that are on credit hold.

  • Develop rapport with customers and sales through the use of automated collection software.

  • Adhere to new programs, policies, procedures and controls to protect our investment in A/R.

  • Recommend a bad debt reserve sufficient to cover anticipated customer defaults.

  • Provide insights to customer behaviors to Sr. Management, Sales and Customer Service.

  • Recommend process improvements to ensure complete customer satisfaction.

  • Assist in process improvement teams, and work in a cross functional team environment.

  • Ensure Adherence to SG Internal Control Reference Framework.

  • Ensure continuous learning for the team through planned training and development.

  • Cash forecasting during peak periods in June and December.

  • Comply with service level agreements in consultation with end users at SG Shared Services.

  • Comply with department and company policies including the Saint-Gobain Code of Conduct.

  • Assist Sr. Credit and Collections Manager by taking ownership of an assigned portfolio of customer accounts. This will include:

  • perform credit risk analysis including recommendation of customer credit line through financial statement analysis, review of NACM, D&B and other trade reports plus CT payment experience while complying with the CT approval matrix

  • collection of aged receivables utilizing GETPaid software

  • reconciling accounts including invoices, on-account payments, credit memos and deductions

  • monthly cash forecasting with increased emphasis during peak periods in June and December

  • ensuring adherence to customer terms and conditions

  • Assist in month end/quarterly reporting and reserve setting.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 4-7 years of experience in credit & collections is required, experience in the construction industry is preferred, and experience collecting from big-box retailers is a plus.

  • A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or business is required.

  • A master's degree or Credit/Collections Certification is preferred.

  • Understanding of finance, internal control processes, construction lien rights and bond claims, bankruptcy knowledge, creditor rights, credit insurance, and A/R and related reserves accounting and software tools is required.

  • Financial Statement Analysis experience and strong financial analysis skills are required.

  • SAP knowledge is required; GetPaid experience is strongly preferred.

  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel (VLookups, Pivot Tables, Sumif, etc.) is required as is extensive experience working with the rest of the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Access, PowerPoint).

  • This position may require some very limited travel.
