What You Will Be Doing

As a Senior Counsel Attorney, you will be helping our clients through out all stages of the litigation legal process. You will be conducting legal research and assisting with disputes that go to trial. Typical job duties include motion and pleading drafting, trial preparation, complex research and analysis, and case management. This position allows the attorney to work from home a few days a week with flexible working hours.

The Lead Attorney will work primarily on contracts (supply and professional services; construction, leasing and other real property; software (SaaS) and other intellectual property) and vendor management matters, supporting the Procurement, Facilities and Third-Party Oversight teams. Focus will be on contract review and negotiation; developing product knowledge and pricing; updating standard contract forms and procurement procedures; and maintaining knowledge of bank regulations and evolving best practices that impact contracts and vendor management. Ideal candidate has financial services experience and can assist business units with product and service terms and conditions and disclosures. Works closely with General Counsel, other attorneys in the Legal Department and business unit leaders. Provides legal counsel and guidance to ensure protection of the bank's legal rights while balancing the business needs of new products and services. Provides professional interpretations and recommendations to the officers of the bank. Researches legal issues, statutes, regulations and cases and develops opinions and guidance on legal issues or new legislation and regulations. Prepares written memoranda and correspondence to management and other internal clients. Must possess strong leadership, diplomatic, analytical and communication skills. Must be a member in good standing of at least one state bar (OR, WA or CA), and have at least eight years of practice in subject areas. Excellent time management, research and writing skills are required. Candidates should excel in a fast-paced environment with ability to shift gears quickly while handling high volume of matters. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORKING CONDITIONS Work involves sitting, occasional walking, and lifting up to 10 pounds. Requires close visual acuity. Normal office environment.
