The Operations Accounting group creates and provides accounting and analytical support for fixed asset investment and provides critical cost data, including standard costs, forecasted costs, and actual costs for Cooper Tire & Rubber. Within the Operations Accounting department, this position reports to the Manager of Operations Accounting.

The candidate must possess excellent analytical, interpersonal and communication skills. The candidate needs the ability to work with minimal supervision, while performing a variety of complex and non-routine tasks and effectively deal with ambiguity and uncertainty.

Specific Duties and Challenges:

  • Prepare, analyze, and report costing on new products to technical and commercial finance

  • Assist with the annual standard costing process

  • Analyze standard and actual costing for existing product lines

  • Partner with technical teams in identifying, reporting, and tracking cost savings initiatives

  • Ensure cost savings are identified within our year over year financial statements

  • Financial liaison to our Global and North America Tech centers. This position is the one point of contact for the technical team to help with grant tracking, spend analysis, fixed asset tracking, and project management

  • May be expected to perform duties other than those specified within this description.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance

  • Advanced PC skills, particularly Microsoft Excel

  • Well organized, with a strong work ethic, and attention to detail.

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

  • Ability to analyze data

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of Cost Accounting experience
  • SAP experience

Qualifications: Required Qualifications: * Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering or related field AND 3 years of experience in industrial engineering OR 7 years of experience in industrial engineering * Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Excel, and Access * Demonstrated experience assessing and communicating human and organizational impacts of change * Demonstrated mentorship experience Preferred Qualifications: * Bilingual English/Spanish * Demonstrated experience in multi-variable standards, time and motion studies,standards development and implementation, facility layout, and project/capital justification * Green belt certification * Demonstrated experience in retail distribution with an emphasis on a performance based culture Lowe's Companies, Inc.
