Air Liquide Large Industries provides our customers with industrial gas and energy solutions that are vital to their own industrial production. We own and operate over 2,000 miles of industrial gas pipelines in the U.S. supplying mainly oxygen, nitrogen, hydrogen and syngas in large quantities from multiple production sources to major customers in the chemicals, petrochemicals, refining and steel industries. Our pipeline operations and industrial gas production facilities are closely monitored 24/7 within our leading-edge operations control center located in Houston, Texas. Our operations control group monitors over 89,000 data points and assists with product supply and coordination. How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?
The Senior Corrosion Engineer is responsible for all corrosion prevention, monitoring, and remediation activities of Air Liquide's pipeline network. This position will support the Integrity Manager, Encroachments team, and the Pipeline Operations team in corrosion related investigations and remediation. The Senior Corrosion Engineer is responsible for the leadership, innovation, governance, and facilitation of the processes necessary to identify, evaluate, mitigate, and monitor corrosion threats to Air Liquide's pipeline network.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following items:
Develop corrosion mitigation strategies based on survey and assessment results
Design cathodic protection systems to protect Air Liquide assets
Analyze assessment data to evaluate the integrity of pipeline and identify potential corrosion risk
Provide technical support and troubleshooting for Integrity team, Pipeline Operations team and the Encroachment team
Manage all AC mitigation studies and remediation projects
Manage and execute CP capital and expense projects
Plan and execute annual cathodic protection surveys
Mange the remediation and mitigation of all cathodic protection deficiencies on the pipeline networks
Write and revise Air Liquide standards related to corrosion control
Auditing of pipeline CP records
Management of taking annual pipe-to-soil surveys, collecting rectifier readings, troubleshooting rectifier units, performing interference testing, recommending, designing, and overseeing the installations of cathodic protection systems
Are you a MATCH?
Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering or Technology preferred, but high school diploma required
Candidates must have valid employment authorization in the U.S. and must not require visa sponsorship now or in the future. This position is not open for non-immigrant visa sponsorship.
8+ years of operational and/or engineering experience in pipeline corrosion control
NACE Certification Required (Minimum NACE CP2 but NACE CP3 or CP4 preferred)
Knowledge of indirect survey techniques; e.g. CIS, ACVG, DCVG, PCM
Knowledge and experience implementing and utilizing industry corrosion specifications
Strong project management and communication skills
Proficient computer skill in MS Excel, Word and Google Suite Programs
Comfortable working in both corporate and field environments
Ability to communicate and document pipeline technical information and knowledge
Solution-oriented, with excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills
