Senior Corporate Counsel License Compliance and Litigation

Reporting to the General Counsel, the Senior Corporate Counsel License Compliance and Litigation position will be a dynamic role with responsibilities across the license compliance team, sales and the legal department. Among other duties, the Senior Corporate Counsel position will be directly responsible for formulating and actively driving strategies for the protection of Quest's intellectual property as well as the resolution of complex, high-value customer negotiations and associated litigation. Manage complex negotiations and worldwide litigation matters relating to contractual and copyright disputes as well as other inbound and outbound litigation for the company.
Manage worldwide patent, trademark copyright portfolios
Responsible for preparation of discovery, review of pleadings, and formulation case strategy. Provide direction and oversight on electronic discovery collection, holds, and compliance.
Review and revise license models and form templates to better align with business goals.
Provide direction to business partners on accomplishing the business objectives while managing legal risk.
Provide counsel and develop and conduct legal training for business partners in the areas such as privilege, document creation and retention, and other areas as requested.
Assist in preparing and managing depositions.
Manage outside counsel, coordinate litigation strategies, and tightly control litigation-related costs.
Review and execution of NDAs and related agreements
Assist in other substantive legal areas and work with members of legal leadership, other attorneys and staff on departmental matters as needed.
At least 5 years of experience as a practicing attorney with experience in a top law firm or in-house.
Solid working knowledge of trademark, copyright and contract law
Experience negotiating commercial transactions, preferably in the software space
Litigation experience handling IP litigation through all phases (pre-trial, trial, appellate, settlement). International experience preferable.
Demonstrated success at providing strategic counseling to business partners that takes into account legal considerations along with business goals
Experience interacting at a senior level with business management teams a plus
Up to 15% travel required.
