  • Assisting Human Resources when needed on various employment-law-related matters

  • Managing outside counsel in various litigation matters to ensure Company standards and expectations are met; attend depositions, hearings, and trials; and otherwise assist in the formulation of commercial litigation strategy

  • Advising the Claims Department on various legal issues including settlement terms, litigation strategy, and any other areas as requested

  • Coordinating with Vessel Documentation Coordinator and other departments, as needed, to ensure that the Company's personal and real property is correctly permitted

  • 4+ years of legal experience required-either in house or at a law firm; we're especially interested in candidates that have substantive experience in international and domestic transportation regulations and agreements

  • Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a higher volume work environment, and to maintain composure and make sound decisions in emergency situations

  • Someone who is organized, able to reprioritize projects on the fly, detail and big-picture oriented, and enjoys collaborating and problem-solving with a team of professionals with diverse backgrounds

  • Occasional business travel will be required, but we are able to offer flexibility through a hybrid in-office and work-from-home schedule
