About the position

Altruist is entering an exciting phase, and we're looking for a Senior Accountant to join our Corporate Accounting team.

What You'll Do

  • Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and fluctuation analyses supporting the monthly, quarterly, and annual close for various accounts (i.e., accrued compensation, commissions, stock-based compensation, etc.)

  • Prepare intercompany journal entries and consolidation and reconcile domestic subsidiary accounts

  • Support the consolidation and reporting processes to ensure elimination of intercompany balances and investments in subsidiaries

  • Monitor and update intercompany methodology and expense sharing arrangements as needed

  • Support automation initiatives of intercompany processes and other corporate accounting initiatives

  • Identify areas for improvement on internal processes and controls and develop efficiencies within consolidation, intercompany, and expense allocation processes in preparation for SOX compliance

  • Conduct variance analyses and provide observations, potential errors, and opportunities for additional follow up

  • Support annual external audit processes and functions

  • Assist in ad-hoc requests

What You'll Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field

  • 5+ years of experience in corporate accounting function, preferably with 3+ years of "Big 4" accounting experience

  • Deep understanding of consolidation, intercompany journal entries and elimination accounting and compliance within US GAAP accounting

  • Strong proficiency in G-Suite, Excel, Word, and other Microsoft office products

  • Detailed oriented and possess effective project management skills and a strong ownership mindset

  • Ability to operate in a fast paced environment, handling multiple responsibilities in a deadline-driven and results-oriented environment

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Propensity to challenge the "old" ways of doing things and enjoy changing the status quo to optimize process and drive continuous improvement in yourself and within your function

  • Active CPA (preferred)

Los Angeles, CA salary range

$101,000-$155,000 USD

Total compensation includes a competitive benefits package along with equity in the form of Stock Options (ISOs). A salary offer will be determined by a number of factors including experience, skill level, internal pay equity, geographic location, and other relevant business considerations.
