This individual will play a key role in the day to day production and archive activities of Major League Soccer. They will manage the ingest of new content, ensure the viability of existing content as an archive record, and also manage the tagging of metadata to assets both past, present, and future. They will also be communicating and managing the standards and processes up to and beyond file organization, storage, and capture.


  • Manage the ingest and backup of digital media into the MLS production/archive library

  • Oversee and tag metadata for video library assets

  • Audit and oversee library storage

  • Recruit, manage, and train video loggers and direct weekly game logging processes

  • Train and manage resources onsite and offsite regarding best practices for file storage, labeling, and organization

  • Oversee file delivery and quality control processes

  • Serve as internal liaison as it relates to video requests and the identification of video assets

  • Maintain quality assurance of game content and ensure all footage meets required archival specifications

  • Additional responsibilities as assigned


  • Bachelor' degree

  • 3+ years of experience in digital media

  • Experience in the Avid environment including Media Composer, Media Central, and Access

  • Detail-oriented with the ability to work independently and prioritize tasks while working on multiple projects simultaneously

  • Knowledge of video encoding software/processes (ie: Telestream Vantage, Adobe Media Encoder, Apple Compressor)

  • Comfortable working in both Apple OS X and Microsoft Windows

  • Experience with delivery technologies including FTP, Dropbox (or similar), Aspera

  • Understanding of NTSC & PAL broadcast standards

  • Experience with digital asset archiving/archive technology, metadata management/implementation, and standard digital formats

  • Superior organization, project management skills, and attention to detail

  • High level of commitment to quality work product and organizational ethics, integrity and compliance

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast paced, team environment

  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate, both written and verbally

  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook

  • Availability for weekend and evening shifts with the potential for travel assignments as needed

  • Basic soccer knowledge

Desired Skills:

  • Passion for soccer and a working knowledge of Major League Soccer, its clubs and its players

  • Video production experience including shooting, editing, and file management

  • Experience with network storage such as RAID and LTO technology

  • Studio production experience including camera, control room, switcher, and EVS

MLS has doubled in size during the past decade and now has 27 clubs, including future teams in Miami, Nashville and Austin that will begin play in the next few years. One more expansion team will be added in the coming years, elevating MLS to 28 clubs.
