Position Summary:

The Senior Coordinator, Information Services provides research to consulting and administrative staff using appropriate tools and services. Frequently works as part of a case team to assist in research planning, information management and capture of research experience.

Essential Functions:

Research:

o Conducts research for case teams, Practice Areas and client development utilizing electronic, print and other resources as assigned under the guidance of a Senior Information Services Specialist, Team Leader, or Manager

o Provides filtered and well organized research results

o May participate as a member of an Industry Team to support cases, and responds to requests from client teams, and should build experience in conducting research in all areas of interest to Bain

o Pro-actively works with Case Teams to understand the project context and specific information needs

o May build industry expertise by attending Practice Area meetings, industry conferences and regular reading of industry trade publications

o Solicits feedback from internal clients

Asset Building:

o Participates in knowledge asset building projects including contributions to the Information Services Portal, wikis, and other projects as assigned

o May participate as a member of an Industry Team

o Participates in ongoing product and service evaluations and resource development activities and implementation as appropriate

o Conducts just-in-time training for research tools and services

Administrative:

o Daily tracking of personal research requests including cost recovery information

o Participates in Information Services marketing efforts

o Pro-actively seeks opportunities to broaden and deepen skill set by participating in special projects

o Provides ongoing support for asset-building activities including processing orders and new acquisitions, cataloging and serials check-in, end-user system updates, tracking circulation of materials from the collection and ongoing maintenance of print and other special collections

o Processes invoices

Qualifications:

o Degree in Library Science from an accredited university or equivalent higher education degree

o One to Two+ years of conducting business research in a fast-paced consulting, financial services or other business setting or equivalent preferred

o Basic experience with Factiva, Thomson databases and other standard business research tools preferred

o Some training, presentation and spreadsheet skills preferred

o Fluent written and verbal communication skills in native language and English required

Job Summary: The Records and Information Management Coordinator is responsible for overseeing various records management-related activities. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, assisting firm employees with record storage and retrieval (off-site), and making certain that those records are properly inventoried, stored, archived, retrieved, preserved and handled appropriately for litigation support and disposed of in accordance within firm compliance, procedures and guidelines. This position also assists in the planning, organization, monitoring and implementation of the records management procedures and controls. In addition, this includes but is not limited to the following: * Assisting/coordinating with H&WS regarding the inventory, storage and maintenance of records at an off-site storage facility * Assisting with US Special Projects * Assisting with office moves, restacks, etc. * Assisting with ARCR execution * Active file room management Key Responsibilities: * Responsible for daily electronic data discovery evidence collection efforts. * Responsible for executing project requirements and providing weekly/monthly status updates. * Work with a variety of hardware (extraction machines, forensic laptops, write blockers, hard drives, etc.) and litigation software technologies to provide user support to the Forensics team by creating deliverables as they complete extractions, images, and collections. * Work collaboratively with the Forensics team (PMO) on e-Discovery Collections, Project Reviews, Recycle Request and Data Searches. * Communicate with Collection Manager to prepare and resolve inquiries through research and documentation. * Make recommendations for improved workflow, quality, internal documentation and processes to maximize system resources and efficiencies as applicable. Independently work on job request from a queue as well as by assignment to ensure that jobs progress with minimal delay. * Responsible for tracking all aspects of assigned projects and maintaining an accurate data collection for blank hard drives to allocate cost to the appropriate projects. * Maintain confidentiality at all times. * Partner with Data Recovery and Internal Acquisition/Transition processes/procedures related to Evidence Handling. * Maintains strict media chain of custody by using standard computer forensics and e-discovery best practices. * Knowledge of document review platforms (e.g. Relativity, ETS, RAX, Equinix, etc.). * Awareness of procedures for data extraction from common email containers such as PST and NSF files. * Participates in the collection of electronically stored information (ESI), including the maintenance and operation of technology needed to complete those tasks; collecting NSF files from Outlook servers. * Train attorneys and paralegals on document review tool. * Learn and use propriety software applications (Relativity, ETS, Case Console, RAX, Equinix, etc.) daily. * Receive, organize, and track media using proprietary database technology. * Work closely with team members to troubleshoot data issues, research software and/or techniques to solve problems, and carry out complex evidence handling tasks. * Communicate and collaborate with other company departments within Americas and outside the US such as On-site Technology Service (OSTS) and Forensic Technology Support * Consultation with client on best practices, recommended methodologies/time and cost estimates while contributing to the assessment of project depth and scope related to Evidence Handling. * Awareness of best practices of laboratory evidence handling, evidence examination, laboratory safety, and laboratory security policy and procedures. * Ability to acquire and archive handheld devices including cell phones, laptops, iPads, tablets, smart phones, blackberries and organizers. * Assist with the annual retention compliance review process * Provide on-the-job coaching, if necessary * May help train new Records Support Center staff members on Record & Information Management procedures and systems * Monitor and confirm compliance with the firm's Records & Information Management (R&IM) policies and procedures, using reports and metrics and secure disposition guidelines * Preserve and maintains records affected by litigation, partner, and/or administrative holds Other Requirements: * Moderate to heavy lifting / moving.
